thank you for the tips! i do need to work on my ext butterfly first. will work on that for tonight's class. also i will try to invert on my weak side like wanda suggested. i always invert on my left so after i invert, the inside hand is my left which is my non dominant hand.
so after so many fails on the ext butterfly and split grip aysha today and almost crying, i decided to try the elbow grip – and got it the first time WTF. but NO im not complaining LOL. i guess im just surprised i could actually do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif i have been dreading that move because i thought it would hurt but it wasnt really that bad.

So far i have gotten my fave tricks in under a week's practice – knee hold, shouldermount, superman. The caterpillar has been my biggest enemy for the longest time. It was so frustrating i wanted to cry everytime i practice LOL. I wanted to give up on it but a lot of the moves i wanted require you to caterpillar up. So I decided to post a "help me vid" on here to ask help from everybody what i was doing wrong. The next day i was able to do it – (sort of) i mean it was a lot better because now i am actually pulling up with my legs and not just pushing up with my arms.
Then i got forearm ayesha accidentally on my first attempt! Now i am working on the elbow grip, split grip ayesha, extended butterfly. I CANNOT for the life of me bring my body away from the pole. Now i am getting frustrated again…maybe it's time to post another "help me vid" lol
Oh and reverse grab spin – i totally gave up trying that stupid thing!

ooh count me IN. i love challenges. my first pole anniversary is Sept 2012.
– learn ayesha (forearm, elbow, split grip)
– improve strength/flexibility
– go to pole class once a week. pole practice at home 3x a week
– eat cleaner. no soda. no sugar. no junk foods. almost paleo diet 🙂
– more cardio/abs exercises/yoga
good luck to everyone!!!

make sure you have your 'couple time" too. my fiancee is addicted to golf as i am with pole but we make sure we spend quality time together.
