I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. It is frustrating to work around the constant niggling injuries that we aquire and just can’t seem to heal. I tried that and it is depressing because you can’t do what you want to do, know you have to stop but can’t.
I’ve injured the muscles between my spine and ribcage and have had it for three months and whilst I don’t regret the injury- I’m predisposed to back injuries due to my scoliosis and I didn’t do anything wrong- it is hard and sadly there is a lot of us out there in the same boat.
I wish you werent in the position that you are in but good luck with the competition and I hope all goes well. You sound like a strong person. Good luck with the healing.

My parents told me to get into pole dancing and bought me a $600 pole and installed it for me. And they aren’t an out there kind of people. They don’t smoke or drink and they go to church.
My work place knows what I do and yes they joke about it a little but they’ve seen what I do and can’t believe it’s possible.
Because I’m proud of the background of pole being sexual and in the clubs even though I don’t do that but focus on the strength and fitness aspect (mostly because I can’t do sexy) others don’t find it taboo and I don’t have to defend what I do or hide it.
Good discussion thread.

Oh okay. I went to the account section and there’s no way to resubscribe. Just tells me when it ends. I guess I’ll wait to see what happens when it ends. Hopefully I wont lose my profile.

I personally use gloves. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them and certainty wouldn’t be able to do the dangerous tricks without gloves.
For me its about safety and if its the only way I’m going to be safe and the only way I can enjoy pole then I do it. Yes there are some moves you can’t do in gloves but what you can do far outweighs the negatives and I progress faster using them.
Absolutely use grip aids if it helps. Sometimes you can’t progress without them.
I have yet to find more that three people who use gloves so give a shout out if you do.

Thanks you both for the assist.
