Most likely it is just your upper body shifting and expanding to become more flexible. You may notice that happening in other parts of your body too aswell in the future.

Go Pole-Twista!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif You go girl that is awesome!!!! So proud of you!
OMG I’ve been actively stretching towards splits for about a year and still am no where close https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif but I have noticed my flexibility increase dramatically within the year. I’ve also realized that flexibility for full splits is a full body thing too not just the legs.
Anyone who wants to increase full body flexibility should try sitting/laying/stretching on the floor as much as possible. I noticed the floor helps to condition the bones and muscles body to be straighter and longer with gravity. I’m always rolling on the floor like a kitty hehe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I even took my tv off the tv stand and put it on the floor so I can always stretch while I watch tv. Don’t you don’t have to go through those measures. I’m just desperate https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif but it does work! The basic mechanics is that when you lay on the floor, you want the vertibrae in your body to extend both vertically and horizontally and overtime working on trying to make your body as flat as possible like a pancake. So imagine that you are a piece of dough and you want to roll/knead yourself flat in all directions. Imagine laying down on the floor and being pressed between 2 pieces of thick heavy glass and you can only move on that 2 dimensional plane. I hope that kinda helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif I tried to explain it the best way I could lol
