I have a couple tall mirrored closet doors I picked up off Kijiji (similar to Craigslist), which I just have leaned up against the wall. I bought some of that rubber matting that people use for lining kitchen cupboards and put that down underneath. Seems to keep the mirrors from slipping around on my hardwood.

It's awesome and hilarious, lol.
Here's the same performance filmed from a better angle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqVd7wfX24k

I tried to imbed the photos in the first post, but that didn't work at all. The links in the second post I just copied and pasted in directly. I didn't attempt any formating at all. Hope that helps! =)

Bah. Webmaster, please make linking things more intuitive!!! Or at least give us a preview option. Pretty please!
Lemme try this again…

I recently placed an order with Amiclubwear and the only problem I ran into is that their stock seems to change over quickly. If you see something you like, better order it fast!
My order shipped quickly, it arrived a week later, and I didn't get hit with any extra taxes or duties despite it being an international order. I ordered four dresses and I got exactly what I ordered.
I was also pleased with the quality. I don't know who makes their dresses, but they have different stuff from most of the other clubbing / exotic dance websites. When I've ordered from places like Yandy, the clothing has tended to arrive either damaged or be so poorly made that it's about on par with those cheap store-bought Halloween costumes. The dresses from Ami, on the other hand, I feel like I could actually wear to go out dancing in public. Not bad for a $20-$30 outfit.

Update: I just emailed X-Pole and they emailed me a digital copy of the instruction manual within a matter of minutes. It was very easy!
Thanks Chemmie and Webmaster. =)

No, I never did find the right manual online. I've been sidetracked by more pressing concerns though, so I haven't gotten around to contacting X-Pole directly. Let me know if that works! =)
-
I also have the same issue with knock-knees, but it's never caused me any problems in pole dancing. (Running and yoga is another story!) Unfortunately, it's been my understanding that it's a structural (bone / joint) problem, rather than a strength (muscular) issue, so surgery is the only options for improving it. =(
-
Thanks for the response. Those are the same manuals I already found though.
What I need is the instruction manual for the original X-Poles. The ones that are top loading and don't have X-joints. Does anyone know where I can find it? Or if it's even still available anywhere?
Thanks!

Errrr.. I would be really hesitant about moonlighting as a stripper if you're serving in the military. Granted, my background is with the Canadian Forces and not the American military, but if a soldier got busted dancing up here the repercussions would probably include charges. You should definitely give all that some consideration before you go out and get a job dancing. (Especially since soldiers are typically a major clientele of strip clubs! Don't expect to fly under the radar for long.)

Great post, Sanchara!
One question though. Both links for the bridge just take me to same series of images. Can you indicate which one(s) have good form and which one(s) don't? Thanks!

I just looked over their website briefly and a couple things jumped out at me:
1) All of the venues appear to be strip clubs.
2) Rule #10 states "contestants will disrobe to the legal limits of the host venue during their performance."
3) Anyone who wins first place at any level of the competition "will agree to a national feature tour."
So, what I'm taking away from the website is that this competition is aimed exclusively at people who are willing to work as strippers. If that's something you're not comfortable with, then definitely steer clear.
For anyone still interested in entering the competition, it would probably be a good idea to look into the company handling the features tour. It would really suck to be obligated to work for sketchy clubs.

MemberJanuary 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm in reply to: Why is the front hook spin so much harder than the back hook?I also find the front hook to be more difficult than the back hook.
One reason is that this is, generally, the first spin people learn where the momentum is generated with the inside leg instead of the outside leg. This can be quite awkward until you get the hang of it.
The front hook also requires more core strength. When you're doing a back hook, your body is snug up beside the pole, so the pole helps you stay perfectly vertical. With the front hook though, your body is actually several inches away from the pole, so you have to rely on your core to keep your hips level. If you look at videos of these two moves closely, you can see the difference in body placement.
And, as Charley mentioned, a common mistake when learning this move is to hook the inside leg too high on the pole. This also leads to a droopy outside hip.
Good luck! It will come with practice!
