However, the dancer in the video (nicole the pole williams) is actually incredibly skilled and does some very impressive moves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehcVomMexkY Titanic, Iron X

I’m sorry to “beat a dead horse.” I knew that SV was not backed by any company. I am just tired of getting told lies by Kevin at PS. I do not like x-pole or lil mynx spin mechanism. I prefer poledanzer, but they do not make a removable 45 which is what I need at this point. I have bought 5 poles from them over the past 7 years, and only once has it been a smooth process. Every time something is wrong. And Kevin blames everyone but his company.

I’m actually off that week!

It’s a little more difficult to level it because it’s top loading and you definitely need a ladder to adjust, but once it’s up it’s actually in theory more stable than a bottom-loaded pole.

Our studio uses PS poles. We take the sleeves off and make them top loading so the screw is not in the way. Top loading means leave the base and the top plate where they are but flip the actual pole around so the screw goes into the top. PS poles are designed to work either way.

After a traumatic injury, like a fall or car accident- it’s not unheard of to have muscle soreness in other areas of the body. I’m feeling brain dead right now and can’t give you a good/well-researched explanation. I’d only be worried if it doesn’t go away after a few days.

To be a pole instructor, you don’t have to be able to demonstrate every move; you just have to be able to break it down and explain well enough for people to understand and execute safely. And give helpful and encouraging criticism. (Like “point your fucking toes”) In the event you need to demonstrate a move you cannot personally perform, other people demonstrate certain moves for you- which is sometimes easier because you can explain what they’re doing while they’re doing it. In that sense, as you ‘get older and cannot move as well,’ you will still be able to teach because you will still have the knowledge and teaching skills you’ve already developed.

Sometimes you can feel “slippy” and “sweaty” if you don’t have enough grip strength. Especially if NOTHING is working and you didn’t think you had sweaty hands to begin with. It was definitely the problem I had the first few years I poled! Then I started grip training and noticed I wasn’t slipping as much. I would give it a try 3 days a week for 2-3 weeks and see if you notice a difference…Not much to lose.

I’ve been teaching for several years and most of my students struggle with the butterfly handstand. Finding the right balance is difficult, scary, and takes a lot of trust that you will be able to stabilize yourself. It’s not necessarily a strength issue…

What size pole do you use? My hands hurt pretty badly after a 38 but not at all after a 50. I’m fairly certain it’s because I am able to grip tighter on the 38. It’s also possible you’re using too much grip aid? I generally just run my hands under cold water for a few minutes if they’re really raw.

Stage poles are generally wobbly. That’s just physics…
I’m sorry you’re having issues with the screws. They recently redesigned their poles so there is not much feedback the screw together joints yet. Sometimes the things these pole companies come up with take an engineering degree to figure out!
I know this might be a dumb question, but you have tightened the screws all the way and you’re sure they are in proper alignment?
