without letting the knee/hip lose grip. yay proofreading.

From what I've played with… we have been clumsily getting into it on static via a modified version of what pole dance dictionary calls "mercury". Lean very far forward and making sure your hip/outer thigh is in contact with the pole while still gripping in your knee. Reach around without letting (hardest part) past a figurehead type pose to the other side. Alternately, on spin mode, it's similar to the icarus spin.
Other suggestions, because this is totally not pretty?

This happened to my chrome xpole 2 years ago. I'm pretty sure it is a little rust. After wiping it with alcohol several times, using it very frequently, and keeping it in a somewhat temp-controlled environment it did fade eventually and feels back to normal.

I got some very mild rust on a chrome xpole. Where is it? Mine was a small amount on the surface in an area of heavy use. With some cleaning and regular use I guess it must've worn off.

I always bring Dryhands and DewPoint as carry ons. 🙂

I'm just curious to see how it connects. I guess I'll find out in a few days. Excited.

I wanted the propole because I move a lot. :/

I was on the phone with them. Bought a stainless from em! 🙂 Hope it's as good as everyone says!

yeah, Veena- I would only recommend it if someone was wanting to dance with clothes on.

And my experience is with athletic tape specifically. Not sure about other tapes. I was told bike tape works well.

It can work in a pinch. Layer the tape from bottom to the top so the top edges of the tape area always overlapping. Makes for less 'rolling' of the tape. Then powder the tape with talc or something similar so the adhesive is not so sticky. If your pole is stainless steel, after you remove the tape you can clean the residue off with with some pretty hardcore cleaning products with no problem. I would not do this with an xpole because the finish is a coating and not the whole depth of the pole. Therefore, removal of the tape could possibly pull off some of the coating, especially if there is already a defect in it. Also, I wouldn't trust more extreme cleaning products with the coating. I know stainless would be fine, but not sure about the chrome. Hope that helps.

Pleaser treasure chests filled with stuff really is great. The pennies were too heavy, so I switched to glass beads. Much more manageable. Better than ankle weights because you can still grip the pole in your ankles for climbs/inverted climbs.
