I'm terrible at this move due to pain tolerance, so take what I say with a grain of salt. From your picture it looks like the pole is not quite in your base leg knee pit, more your calf. The other knee pit should be over your ankle more so your higher leg is turned out slightly and flex the bottom foot hard against the pole…(upon a random google search- here's a blog with lots of pics for you to compare– http://thepoledancersdiary.tumblr.com/post/31322789907/remi-leg-lock-the-remi-or-the-leg-lock-is# ) This should put the pole more on your shin/ankle as opposed to all on your foot. Your foot does look like it's bending funny in your pic. It still hurts like a bitch though.
I get the 'snapping' feeling for both of those moves. I don't do either for that reason. One of my fellow poler friends introduced the 'pretty to pain' ratio… if it's not pretty enough and it hurts that badly, not worth it! I stand by that for moves with a snapping or a nerve compressing feeling.

Supplements are pretty scary and not regulated. There can be some dangerous stuff in them so be very careful! If you really feel like your diet is lacking, consult a nutritionist/dietician.

I did have to change eating habits too. Eating a good breakfast ( usually oatmeal with various berries) and lots of lean protein and veggies. Again, my goal is not to lose weight but just to feel better while doing pole. You can't eat eggs and bacon or pizza and then invert comfortably! Weight loss may just be a positive side effect! 🙂

People are always selling their poles. I'm sure there's someone who will sell you a used one at a cheaper price. Just keep checking veena. Where are you located?

I find the PS stainless stickier- but everyone's different!

Last year I stayed in the Palms. Totally worth it because we spent all day there. It was nice to be able to go back to your room for a short nap or a clothes change.

I don't see many people do it. I really love Michelle Mynx's signature style. She's got some tricks no one else does. Back to normal thread conversation.

to go off topic: this is the first vid I could find of 'the flying chimpanzee' @1:56. From a cup grip shouldermount she rests her butterfly leg on her upper arm (not actually the pole) with a true grip hand position. (sorry for the really old video!)

Michelle Mynx calls a true grip extended butterfly variation a 'flying chimpanzee'. Close enough!

Also- Bring a pair of heels (not pole heels). One of the clubs that hosted a pole contest last year did not allow flats/flip-flops/etc. My friend forgot to pack heels and we ended up not getting into the club.
And go see Absinthe. Best show in Vegas if you like burlesque-y, dirty humor and circus stuff. Liked it much better than the Cirque shows I saw.

Last year I went and bought a cheap thin mat from walmart that fit in my luggage so that I'd at least have something. Bring some nice clothes for going out! I didn't bring enough cute outfits last year.

My SO prefers reverse grab spins and butterflies. He's done some poling himself though, so I think his opinion leans in the direction of complicated/challenging in addition to pretty.
