HOLY COW https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Twins!!!!!!!!!! Are you doing a hospital birth or home? Congrats https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif !!!!
Thank you…omg I am FREAKING out right now, it was such a shock! I actually have not been able to talk to my midwife yet, I have been planning a home birth and am trying not to feel disappointed that it probably won’t happen now…..I just don’t know, I will of course do whatever they tell me I need to for the babies. They are both measuring perfectly and are healthy and strong, as am I, and I have an excellent record with normal natural birth so even if it ends up being in a hospital I want my midwife there and want to keep it active and intervention-free. My main concern with twins is that I understand they usually come early on their own or are induced early……if it’s before 34 I’ll have no choice but to be in a hospital but if my midwife and the OB I’m assuming I’ll have to start seeing now are both okay with me delivering at home that would be so ideal!

SO exciting Polebunny – such wonderful times ahead!
I’m just shy of 5 months along right now and am still poling and LOVING it! I have basically been treasuring Veena’s advice on the subject and being open with my midwife about my activity level, and really listening to my body. I stopped inverting a little earlier at about 3 months because it just didn’t feel right…..I’m glad I listened to myself because I just found out today I’m pregnant with TWINS! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
Climbs have actually still felt okay for me….but I can tell it’s about time to stop. I actually just posted a dance video the other day, I knew it was about time to slow down on spins and climbing so I’m glad I got it out when I did!
Best of luck to you!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thank you THANK YOU for posting all this info! I am planning to put a permanent spinning pole up and was going to message you for the details – You are an Angel https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I feel the same way you do, I love learning routines because I have NO idea what to do on my own yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I am a HUGE fan of Bobbi’s Pole Studio, I have every video she’s made and she is a routine genius! Search YouTube for her vids, her Pole Grooves Volume 1 has a decent beginner routine and Pole Grooves Volume 2 has a lot of combinations you can use to make your own routines. If you email her you may be able to get her to send you the routine videos her instructors use to teach at her studio – I have them and LOVE them! They are awesome, you can see a couple routines of hers I’ve learned if you check out my videos. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I agree with you, I love pirouettes! I learned to do them from Bobbi’s videos. It’s just basically a step and turn. She calls it the basic ‘Kate Moss’. Once you get the first steps it’s so easy to build on, to add a full turn and then go easily into spins….I wish I had a better way to explain it but you basically step forward with your outside leg, pick up your inside leg and go under your arm. ……off to check out the vid you posted! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I just found out I’m pregnant! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif SO happy about it, not too worried about the wrench it will throw into my pole dancing ambitions……I’m not totally ready to stop inverting yet, but no more working on new inverts…….I really want to keep spinning, I don’t want to completely lose all my arm strength! I plan to mostly work on my flexibility and take advantage of my softening bones.
Bec3231 – have you had your little girl yet???
OMG!! Congrats!!!!! If you have questions please feel free to email me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif As long as you keep up with some form of exercise you’ll bounce right back! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifThank you so much Veena! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I’m SO excited, I’m sure I will take your offer to ask for guidance…..I’ve been a regular runner and with my past 2 pregnancies I scaled it back to just walking and yoga….but lately I’ve been hearing that it’s fine to keep up your regular level of activity so I think I may try to continue to run for as long as it feels good.
I’m so new to pole dance, I know it will be hard for me to slow down – I just want to make sure I’m safe about it. I reallllllly want to get more flexible, I think that should be my ultimate goal during this time. That’s really encouraging to hear you can bounce right back – I feel like it’s taken so long to build up the strength I have today, I’m worried about losing it all! You were so back so soon….but you’ve also been doing this for years! Alright…..I’m off to watch your pregnant pole dance video https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif xoxo

BOBBI’S!!!!
I’m obsessed with her videos, I love her choreography! I’ve posted a couple routines of hers I’ve learned in my videos…..I am SO not a natural dancer and completley had NO idea what to do around the pole if I wasn’t doing a trick so I have really loved just being able to attempt to mimic her and her fabulous instructors. Her videos are available for purchase on her website – search Bobbi’s Pole Studio. If you email her and are are especially nice she may send you some DVD’s of just routines that are meant for her instructors. I use them like aerobic videos! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I ordered it and did it for the first time today – I didn’t get all the way through, but so far I’m impressed. I have to say she’s got some wicked camel toe : https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif but she is SO adorable and easy to listen to, and I think she really knows what she’s talking about. Maybe it’s because I haven’t made it all the way through the workout yet (I may be missing her genius) but so far my only critique is that she dosen’t hold the stretches for longer, there are many I’ve never done before and they feel sooooooooo good, I want to stay in them for much longer than she prompts you to.
I’m buying some ankle weights tomorrow! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
