I have been pretty lucky that I started this little pole adventure with a few girlfriends, it’s definitely been a huge part of the fun for me.
I’m so happy for you BBB the way things are working out with your pole talent and teaching others. Wish I was in Florida!

I don’t see any problem with plastic surgery, you’re the only one who knows what those ‘right’ reasons are – just do it for yourself. Oh Glitter! What everyone’s saying is so true, something I always have to remind myself about pretty much everything in life…..you can’t compare yourself to others, you just have to be YOU and do your best! It’s so irresistible sometimes to think that way though….I know you’ve had trouble lately with the SM but I remember when you first got it I was so jealous! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I was not even near getting it at that point and still have so far to go to get it really solid….but seriously if I determined my worth by comparing myself to others I might as well just blow my head off – there are SO many amazing people out there, I try to focus on being inspired by them rather than let those feelings of self-loathing set in. I agree with Veena laying off the weights might be a good idea for a little while, when I get frustrated sometimes I’ll just do really small workouts where I just do strength training on the pole, or just practice handstands or something.

I have some similar issues with my husband……basically I just try to be careful in what I expose, and where I post it. I have a private blog so I can manage my readership, and I don’t post videos on YouTube. I feel very safe here on SV, maybe I’m being naive but I feel like this is such a serious pole dance community that the potential for weirdo’s is quite limited. I agree with Glitter and think you’ll do better with your goals if you leave your videos up. Your vids already seem to be mostly shot in darker lighting, maybe it would make your husband feel better if it was even a little darker so it’s more just your silhouette. I know – the internet is weird…..my husband is not even crazy about me having a FaceBook – he’s just like ‘I don’t get it!!’ WHY??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I don’t ‘approve’ things with him, but we have an understanding of what we’re both comfortable with so I really try to respect him and our marriage. I prefer a spinny pole! Though now that I’m doing more inverts I’m liking static a little more – each is good for certain things.

I have a really hard time with floorwork too, especially because my dance pole is on hard tile floor in my bathroom – it is KILLER on my knees! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Plus, I am not very flexible and I feel very very awkward and I really want to stick to ‘classy’ moves. I really LOVE Bobbi at Bobbi’s Pole Studio and one her videos that I have has a great section on floorwork that I’ll do for practice on carpet sometimes.
