I started from spinning. One of my first instructors was a “spinny pole” instructor, so she encouraged all her students to do spinning. Interesting enough, my new instructor is a static instructor, but I always ask her to unlock my pole. To me, static takes more strength because you have to let go enough to make yourself spin as well hold on tight enough that you don’t slip. Spinning let’s me focus just on strength. Now I am trying static for versatility and it feels awkward. I’m sure I’ll get adjusted over time

Thanks everyone! When I went home to practice I actually did feel a firmer grip on my smaller pole!

That works too, since the gym she knows me to go to is in walking distance while the pole studio is a train ride away. Loving the suggestions, thanks!

That definitely works, thanks! I know I definitely didn’t want to lie. Hopefully with her help I’ll be able to go regularly!

Lol, I guess I’d be the detractor haha. I’m trying to figure out where else would you use this move outside of pole..

Happy mother’s day! The wish almost came true until my son kept screaming mommy while I was in a elbow stand…lol love my lil ones to pieces

  • It is a beautiful move that I am trying to master as well. It takes strength… I think if I can just get the straight body posture than the turn will come without much difficulty

Lovely! I’m looking forward to my year’s journey when it comes! I just wanted some motivation. Especially when looking at all of the advanced performers and wondering when i’ll reach that level

This is my pole! I never knew it had a name though….lol I am a beginner, like working on hooks and fireman beginner. But I have done pole sits, climb attempts and such and it does not budge. I was about 220 when I first bought it in early Feb or late Jan (losing weight, yay!).
I thought it would be a good beginner pole for my budget. when I advance and if I need another pole i’ll reward myself with an x-pole
