Wow, we have so much in common! I'm originally from Fl, 39 yrs old, and just started pole dancing 6 weeks ago. Also, like you I"m not where I would like to be or where I think I should be. Whenever I start thinking like this I try to remember its all about the journey, not the destination. Celebrate the accomplishments you've made already and it doesn't hurt to tell yourself, "Yeah, I rocked that!" when you have nailed that move you've been practicing and practicing. Remind me of all this tomorrow when I'm beyond frustration at my lack of skills,LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Shelliebelly, welcome to the site! I'm glad you found a solution to your slipping. Isn't it great that everyone is so helpful?  I will remember the sandpaper and vinegar trick in case I need it later.

Glad to hear the stainless can work here in CO. I'm in the Springs. I will check out the different types mentioned in this thread. The info is great for a newbie like me.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks everyone! I think I’ve narrowed it down to the powder coated or brass. Now if I can make a choice I’ll be doing good. I definite
ly would like to use a spinning pole if that makes a difference.

I learned on a stainless steel pole but had a hard time sticking to it because the pole was cold and my hands were sweaty. Go figure! LOL. It was ok once it warmed up though.
