Im also a Planet Fitness Client. You can always book a session with a PT and they will work with you about creating a workout plan that you can use everytime you go in there. Plus its part of the membership package. After awhile and you need to change it up, you can book another appointment and adjust from there.

I dont like wearing boy shorts under my pole shorts – feels like im wearing 2 pairs of shorts at once. Hanes makes these underwear that look like guys boxer briefs but shorter. They would make great pole shorts. I like wearing them for day to day use b/c I never have to worry about ride up/roll down issues.
For under my pole shorts, I wear seamless panties. I only wear thongs if im doing a performance.

I started out on a 50 custom brass pole made for my former home studio. When I finally got enough money to buy a home pole I got a 50 in chrome. My theory was alot like Cali's if I could nail the moves on the 50, anything smaller would be even easier! I now have a PS Star Stand Alone (the one used for AGT) in 50 in SS. I love chrome and SS better than brass. Brass is too grippy IMO. Ive tried 45 at pole jams and Pole Con this year. OMG I am in love with the 45. I can grip so much better hand wise on them. So my next venture is to to see if Platinum Stages can sell me just the pole to swap out on my Star Stand Alone!

like https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/bca825f0-d89d-11df-ab19-12313b090e12 I make all my own costumes. I sketch them and buy the pieces every week to keep working on them. Ill shop just about anywhere for costume pieces. One of my first performances I did 'Shut Up and Drive' by Rihanna, I bought a Dickies coverall jumpsuit and turned it into a skirt coverall. I took some NASCAR logos and iron transfered them on and made a flag with checkered flag fabric. Always watch out for Joann coupons – they can help save a ton!
Im now at a point where I can mix and match costume pieces to create new ones! At Dangerous Curves, I got crystals and jazzed up my BK spider back bra and wore black shorts and a finge piece I made a long time ago.
For me not only do I get the joy of making my own, its just hard being plus size and finding a costume that isnt $300.

Let me let you in on a little secret. When I did AGT, I had mentally prepared that routine all day before I went on stage. I forgot about 90% of my choreographed routine when I walked out there! I remembered my key points but I freestyled the rest of it. Of all the years ive performed, ive been told if you forget a move, dont put the feeling on your face – just solider on! It happens to all of us!
Ive done the same competition 4 times to make it to the finals. Its hard to put blood, sweat, tears into something and watch it all crumble within 3min. IMO, I think theres a time period where you can be down on yourself but you gotta pick yourself back up and press on. I give myself no more than a day to have a pity party, I take a week off, do some reflections. Then get back up and start over.
Its normal to be hard on yourself – you are your own toughest critic! You just gotta know when to learn from it and use it for the next competition.

I bought some at my local grocery store last night. My hamstrings and where my glute meet are always tight, I try to stretch it out and take it easy when I get a free moment. But it looks a little odd laying on the floor of my office trying to stretch. As much as I want to see a sport meds doc it comes down to 2 factors – insurance and time. I dont have the greatest insurance and finding a speciality doc is a big pain. Then factor in a full time job and no down time from rushing kids here there and everywhere, my body gets put on the back burner a lot! What I had noticed what really helped was getting a massage, it totally opened them up and I felt so much better. But trying to find time to do it is really hard to factor in.
My husband (the college graduate who graduated with a degree in exercise physiology (please excuse my spelling coffee isnt in my system yet)) looked at it and didnt see how it could help me. Granted he hasnt been using his degree and been out of the industry for over 8yrs now. I had him help me get tapped. I have noticed a difference but its only been one day. I do look funky with my bright pink tape peeking out of my kahkis though! LOL

Thats on my lists of trainings I want to do. Climb and Spin is a few thousand and its 10days. As much as I want to get training in – I cant take 10days off of work to do that.

iPad2 has iMovie on it so you can edit directly on the iPad. If you have a 1st gen (like me) you have no camera and no editing software. But if you use iCloud, im pretty sure you can grab your stuff from the cloud and get it in/out of the iPad. I havent really had a chance to play with iCloud but im pretty sure it can be done.

No matter what, people are going to hate. As a pole dancer you have to have tough skin to just deal with it. You also learn to pick your battles, I know we want to defend pole so much but sometimes you just gotta let the fight die. Trust me, ive done enough correcting saying its a pole not a stripper pole. Strippers cost extra!
Yeah, I may do it for fitness and sexy stuff. But Ill be looking sexy b/c of the the fitness side of it!!

MemberAugust 22, 2012 at 6:06 am in reply to: Current competitions. Is anybody getting it right? As Bob already said – thats our voting power. Thats how we make the pole idustry grow and move!
As for me I like to perform and I like to compete. Its just in my blood. Some of us get into the comps b/c we dont have any other outlet to perform. I think we need more performances outlets even for those who dont have the pole experience but like to put on a show.
USPDF is a tough gig just to get in. Ive heard stories of women who didnt get in b/c 'they thier toe point wasnt strong enough'. I also think they kind of look for an image when looking for finalist as well, I mean if they win they are representing US and pole dancing for the next year. Then APFC seems like a good competition based on the people who get into it. But then its organizer has gotten into alot of trouble by speaking her mind and seeming to omit parts to her story. My wallet has not helped either one (mostly due to financial restrictions for me) but I do support those who do make it to the big stages.
Then theres people like ME and Moses Carroll who are giving alot of women the opportunity to compete who havent before. I was shocked I made the Ms VA Competition, I was up against alot of great talent and just happy to share a stage with them. I know Moses and his crew work really hard to promote Pole Dance America and give women that chance. Look at some of his past winners and how thier pole lives have changed!
For me, it all comes down to research. I read all my stuff before I decide to submit, I also look at past winners and competitiors to get a feel for what they are expecting.

I am currently using Wen on my hair and it being colored red, I do my best to not shampoo as often to maintain the red. Im a die hard fan of dry shampoo – I have probably tried every brand under the sun. My top two faves are Not Your Mothers and Oscar Blondi. I prefer the powder since it absorbs the oily in my hair (my hair is oily and thick). I havent gotten it cut since March, I think im due for a trim!
I also try to put in my exenstions from time to time so I see what its going to look like when its grown out and remind myself if I keep letting grow it will happen. I put them in yesterday for a wedding and I loved the way my hair looked even when I threw it back in a ponytail as well.

Its a double edged sword. My boss knows and most of America knows that I pole. Im very proud about what I do and im very happy I have a job where my boss is totally cool with it. Shes even encouraged me to go to NY and take a class with Steven (shes crazy obssessed with him).
But then again I had thought about switching jobs/careers. I have this fear that I pretty much screwed myself over from getting a new job due to my appearance on AGT. My personal FB is private and blocked off from being searched but that doesnt stop someone from googling my name. I know whats out there and I just have to face the music when I reach that path.
When/If I have a opportunity to get a new job, and they ask about anything they could find on Google, im gonna be honest and straight forward. Id rather them know from the horses mouth instead of finding out on thier own and making thier own conclusions.
