I thought I should add this too…..Enjoy the foods you love but all in moderation. So here is something to help you figure out HOW MUCH is a serving. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

that is always how I felt when it came to food. You can have your cake and eat it too, but its just a smaller slice!

Thank Halfjack for that story. Alot of women are like that (gulity!), I always know my husband is going to find me attractive no matter what. But part of me feels like hes kinda required to say that. Now if someone I dont know well calls me hot, I get giddy inside and its a total confience booster.

So going back to the thread (which I think is a great thread right now), this is really going to make me love my body.

I love my hair and my arms. Ive worked hard for my arms and darn right proud!

IMO, I think a great routine has an equal balance of tricks and moves. There are still moves I cant do but Im great at floor moves. When I perform I like to put on a show from the first note until the last beat. some folks you can watch and they run through thier routine like a robot, but then you have some where they may not have all the crazy tricks in thier routine but you are moved by it.

I always feel like I have more moves than tricks when I perform. I always blank out sometimes on what moves and tricks I can perform.

the best solution for me has been to put it in the far corner of the room and angle it up a bit so I get more of the upper than the lower part of the pole – it’s worked ok but I agree it is a little frustrating!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif Good luck.

this was my first thought. I dont use a flip, I guess you can say im from the old school. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif The only downside if backing up the camera so you can see more it there wont be any close ups. This video im doing for Jan im using 2 camcorders and tripods so I acutally have to edit it.

@ Loopielou – what I do when i film is I pick a song every month and coreragraph a routine to it. I try to do different things to show my progression. Some film for a while and then edit clips together and add music.

But I do have an idea https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif : maybe we can all form little Studio Veena groups to kinda stick together. You know, book hotel rooms together, go out for meals and such together, etc. and split the costs. Would save money for everyone and people like me wouldn’t have to worry about being alone. Anyone up for that???

Im up for it, I think thats the only way I could get up there. Im really waiting on Uncle Sam to give me my tax $ so I can get my car back on the road. I soooo want to go to this, but the car comes first. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I have Safari on my PC, I LOVE it! Its easier to use and doesnt crash on me as often as IE does. I also have mine set up to run spell check as a I type since I am not the greatest speller. I do own a mac but its so old its hard to keep up. I have an apple ibook (you know those super cute ones that came out in the late 90’s), and its on Mac 10.2. Yeah, im few OS behind but it runs just as good as my pc. I want to upgrade and get a newer mac, but its gonna have to wait.

so after a few gliches, the convention is back on! I just saw it on FB today. Its now in May and will be held at the Gaylord National. Its on the Potomac river so not only are we going to have an explosion of pole, we will have awesome scenery as well.

This is also a hotel, so if anyone wanted we could book a room (or a bunch of rooms) together!

DC has no idea what were going to do to thier town when a bunch of awesome pole dancers come to town! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I think Will is a bit torn on the issue w/me dancing. On one hand, he enjoys the fact I can do these moves and have a sense of empowerment. On top of having better self esteem. Will also likes to brag that hes married to me, hes plugged my YT site a few times. But then again, hes worried I may run off and become a stripper and show everyone my cash and prizes. He knows as of right now being a stripper isnt a career, but pole dancing could be. We have lots of discussions about music, moves, costumes, performances etc.

I would find out the method behind the madness. Sometimes theres an underlying issue that hes afraid of bringing up.

I know everyones names of moves are different. A catch spin from what I was taught is you step with your inside leg, swing the outside leg around to the other side. The inside leg that you started with will slide up the pole to stop you from spining.

try moves where you dont leave the ground yet – catch spins, back bends etc. I consider those the foundations of pole before you start doing spins. Its like learning ballet, you learn in 3rd position to work your way into 5th position to do those moves.

You cant go wrong w/floor work!
