Me, too! And the more people that quit, the more people there are to support others as they make that decision. I love it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I told you that day we had lunch and went unmentionables shopping (at a rather sketchy store *cough*) that I was ready!! Which btw…i’m in need of a fajita bowl…veggie of course. After crazy christmas…i’m stealing you for a day!!

is the fajita bowl from Chipotle? I <3 me some chipotle!

I want to say to all the quitters out there, good luck on kicking the habit. I dont have any expereince w/it (never wanted to smoke, or even try), but I know who have found success. Im here for support or to even get your mind from it.

I know they give you a recovery time but you also have to think about that they cut into your abodmen. that doesnt heal quickly. I would working on building strength on that side.

I stoped dancing at 3mos. My body could not take it. There are few pics from holloween last yr me preggo on the pole ( I went as a preggo Hooters Waitress). I know KT had a progression of her pole while preggo on her FB page. I know I was wiped out and couldnt handle what I normally do. After birth I was kicking myself for not staying active the entire time. I gained 80lbs but I gave birth to an 11lb boy. I felt like I was carrying twins. I was miserable and kept watching lots of youtube videos to keep me inspired for when the dr’s ok me.

Lily – congrats on the Twins! Double the fun!

wikipole is good b/c it should have variations of the names. You can also try Vertical Dance, KT has pics of all the moves and poses. Im not very good w/names but as soon as you show me the move, I remember.

There are some moves I can get on the first try and I just need to perfect them, others take me forever to do. It took me months to invert, and now Im still having issues.

Since you know you where your weakness is on those moves, Id work on that more and more. Id do lots of laybacks or anything that requries you to hold the pole via thigh. Also doing alot of inner thigh work outs will help too. I did alot of arm/ab work to help get my inverts.

    Good Luck!

I feel that a group fitness or personal trainer certification through ACE or another reputable fitness certification service is the way to go. It will cover anatomy and give you a good foundation for understanding proper and safe body mechanics and anatomy. From what I have seen of many pole certifications, I don’t feel they give you enough for the money you spend. Once you are ACE certified, they offer a pole dance continuing ed coarse you can take, the cost is far less than any other pole certification. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thats a good plan! I was thinking of becoming certified not only to one day teach but really help get trained. I always need a goal to keep me moving. If I have no reason, then I wont do it. Im a overacheiver gal and Ill get qualified in anything I could. I think doing different programs would give you different outlooks on pole and be able for you to get an idea of what pole dancing is for you and how you want to portray to your students.

How long ago was your surgery? I had my gall bladder taken out in 2005. I also had the surgery via laproscopicly, I look like I got stabbed w/a steak knife a few times. I havent had any problems w/them hurting. Ive been using bio oil on them to help reduce the appeareance of them. It will also soften up the skin as well.
