Also, what does it smell like?

My SO bought me 10 classes of hot yoga. I've been to one and honestly I haven;t been back. I thought my asthma was long gone and conquered, until I stepped foot into that room. Not sure what to do with the rest of the classes since it's non transferable.

Fireside, do you by any chance use a brass pole? I find the itac2 to be amazing on the xpole but horrible on brass poles.

Polekitten, I can't seem it "get" the marley as well. I've done it by accident before but when I try to do it it's a mess.

Glitter, I'm sure you didn;t sound like a jerk. And even if she takes it that way, it's better to be a safe jerk than not. Please update us when she replies.

I usually have  to use a grip aid on non brass poles in the winter. I have come to terms with that. Sometimes, the temperature and humidity is just right so I dont; need to, but thats a rarity these days.

My phsysiotherapist reccommends I use one when I have try skin to avoid strainign my wrists further in an attempt to hold on as I tend to rely more on my hands when my legs are not sticky. Better "cheat" a bit and get some practice in sideways instead of hurting myself or not poling at all.

As I see, it’s not a grip aid, but a lotion you can dance with. That makes it even better. My skin is very dry in teh winter. I"ll order it when I have some spare $$$ and I’ll post my review here.

Has anyone here used that lotion and what’s your thoughts on it? I love my ITAC but I find it hard ot apply thinly and evenly onto the legs, a lotion might spread better.

Another shorty here, 4’10". Yogini is painful and I have to rely on mostly my arm pressing the pole against my ribs. I also have a alot of trouble getting ym torso to wrap aroudn the pole for the ballerina and the allegra. I can do it, and it look decent, but it’s difficult. I have to mentally lengthen the torso and wrap it aroudn carefully or else it just don’t reach. I don’t think it’s a case of lack of flexibilty, I see a lot of people with less flexibilty than I do these moves. I’m pretty sure it’s the short torso.

SUCCESS!!! I electric blanket did wonders! I listened to the advice here adn avoided clamps, instead I used 1/2" elastic (left over form a sewing project) to secure it around the pole. I left it on for 30 mins and warmed up whiel I waited. The pole was just about my body temperature after a warm up.

I still needed to use some itac, but I was able to pole without wanting to cry frustration.

This was a triumph! (yes, it’s a portal reference)

I do some cardio before going on the pole and it does help, but not too much. I have a TG pole and I find that when my body is warm and the pole is cold, tiny invisible droplets of condensation tends to form making it very slippery. I think Veena mentioned it happening with her TG as well. I haven’t had it happen all summer, and forget about it til now. This mean it must me dry heat…but not too dry because I have dry skin. I hate winter poling.

Currently I have my electric blanket wrapped around the pole and tied with elastic, goign to give it an hr to warm up and I’ll report back on how it works.
