I might go to the pole jam. Really depends if I can get myself to the location. I’m in Scarborough.

I find the trick for this one to avoid the collar bone is to keep your legs straight and your foot on the pole for as long as you can as you descend. This will help you roll down controlled one vertebrate at a time so that the pressure is on the back of shoulder. I basically get my hands into position, straighten my legs, and then slide my foot down the pole with my legs straight until I"m ready to V.

Edit: I’m not sure if I’m explaining things well, so I made a short video of me doing the shoulder dismount. I’m trying to do it slowly to show the placement of my feet. My body kinda make a triangle with the pole.I gave two angles so you can see, I hope this helps.

I can’t to get my body wrapped around the pole like this. I get hte same pain as when I do the allegra. The odd time I do get into a similar position, with the pole behind my back, right leg wrapped and my left armpit hugging the pole, it doesn’t look pretty and elongated liek veena, It looks scrunched up. When I try to elongate, eithe rI hurt my ribs or my leg pops off hte pole. Any idea why this is?

We might have a convert! You should bargain with her to see if you can get a discount by trading pole lessons.

Also, I washed it with dish soap at first to get all the oils out.

It was approx $11 so it’s quite expensive for a cloth, but I figured it’s an one time investment.
I’m glad it’s non abrasive, really like how clean it gets my pole. I use it slightly damp. It doesn’t do much dry.

    This is my challenge idea:

Create a routine geared towards changing the common misconception that pole dancing = stripping.
Make it tasteful, athletic and artistic. Basically a routine that you would be proud to show your parents. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I’m sick and tired of the reaction we as a community gets from the general populace. Why shouldn’t it be considered an athletic art? Why isn’t it suitable for a college talent show? People are so closed minded and judgmental. So lets dedicate one pole routine to changing their mind.

I got the knee hold months before I got the star. I’m weird. I feel as though the pole pops out of my backknee (is that a word?) in the star, but since my other foot is holding my leg in place, it doens;’t happen on the knee hold.

Reading those comments made me so upset that I actually starting crying in front of my computer. Why are people so closed minded and judgmental?

I showed some pole moves to my aunt who put my cousin through gymnastics and she thinks it’s a great sport. She think there should be after school program for children to start them young (gymnastic mom much?). She also thinks that to get it accepted, we need to take the word "dance" out of it and change it to "athletic pole". The pole DANCE as we know (heels, sensuality, femininity) could stay in competitions like the USPDF. But "athletic pole" done in the olympics should be done barefoot with a style similar to oona’s.

I really really want to make this a reality so those nasty commentators in the link can drown in a pool of their own disgusted puke.

I’m a compulsive list write with book of lists. I’m so glad I’m not alone. The only list I have trouble keeping updated is that "what I ate today" list. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

This happens all the time!I go through phases where I’ll "forget" certain moves and find myself doing a combo on repeat through half a song. I’ve tried writing down the moves I want to practice but once the music gets going I forget everything. I"m thinking of buying a dry erase board for my rooms so I can write all a bunch of moves down in BIG letters so I can say them when on the pole.
