Tell him you really really appreciate his thoughtfulness. But show him a few of the 100s of videos of cheap pole falling down or scratching people at the joints on youtube. The show him how sturdy an x pole is.  He shoudl understand.

I can taste bile coming up while watching that. This topic gets me really frustruated.

During one of the Ontario pole jams I met a woman who brought her daughter, she was maybe 10-11. They were having a great time bonding over pole. It is healthy and fun. One look at this mother/daughter team and you can tell the mother is doign a grade A, stand up job at raising an intelligent, healthy and independent young individual that will benefit society.

I use the armpit a lot for the chopstix as well. But some people can do it armfree.

Don;t feel too bad, hun. I bet even the best polers  in the world feels weak, stiff, unfit at times. Competitions are mentally taxing. The idea of being in a competition terrifies me, even though I would love to enter one. I honestly think if I tried I would seize up and I won;t be able to do anything, much less my routine. Then, I"ll never forgive myself…so I never enter any, even though I want to. Think of it this way, atleast you had the guts to apply, you are one step ahead of me!

Why don;t you tape your routine and post it here on studioveena and share it with us instead when you feel you are fit enough to perform for us?  We would LOVE to see it.

    Thank you Amy!

I don't think I"m focusing on anything when I"m inverted, I do most of my inverted moves by feel anyway since my glasses tend to move to my forhead…maybe that's why I don;t get dizzy.

  • Also, the dancers seem to be protrayed (spelling) as unobtainable goddesses, perfect girls he can veiw but never touch, rather can cheap dime a dozen girls.

  • It's great to see pole as more than just grinding. I hate anything that put pole in a bad light, but I think this wasn;t too bad at all. At least it shows the amount of skill needed.

I've been trying to preorder for almost a month now. I've emailed them…they told me to call in to preorder. So I call in, and they told me to call back in 3 weeks. They didnt; take any of my information. So I call back today and they ask if I preorder, I said no I dont; think I did becuase they didn;t take any info, and then toldme they'll call me back…still waiting for them to call me back.

I'm looking to order a brass expert and a brass x stage (45mm for both), the inability to confirm a preorder is very frustruating.

I see that that action pole are 1.5" (38mm), but the poles int he photos still look photoshopped in. In the 4th room photo, the pole is narrower than teh distance from the tips of her fingers to her firts knuckle.

I sit in pigeon pose on my yoga mat while my chinchillas are having their play time (30-40min a day). I put my laptop on a chair in front of me for music/youtube/email. I find my back leg to be the less flexible leg so I focus on sittign straight up or leaning back instead of folding over. I find my splits much flatter after doign this. I guess you can do that while watching tv as well.

For the center (chinese) splits, I lay with my butt against a wall and lets my legs straddle wide where ever they go comfotably (important not to push) while I listen to an audio book. After 10-15min I find my legs have dropped much much lower.

In the the action pole website, it looks like they photoshopped poles infront of models. The poles look awfully skinny, check out the 4th room, the pole looks to be no more than an inch thick. Talk about a bad photoshop job.

I've never heard of them before. I wonder if anyone has experience with them. 1.5" diameter, if that would be sweet.
