Ooh, good for you! I’d love to read your blog for it.
I tried but quickly discovered you need to be at a certain level of fitness to even start it… and I wasn’t there yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I found the strength based ones impossible. The guy who "presents" it is awesome though – just as cheesy as Mr Motivator but eminently watchable!

I thought that video was brill too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I still stick when I try a pretzel in shorts though. In trousers, I spin well enough but, in shorts, I get about half way around the pole before my bottom leg decides we’re stopping. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Seems like it’s just a case of reminding it who’s boss though!

That’s awesome, bttrswtbeauty – congrats! You look so strong https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I’m another one who found most stuff impossible to start with. I think I battered my legs up more, just learning how to do a fireman spin than I have anything else! I came at it with no co-ordination, no upper body strength and no flexibility in my legs. It only gets better https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Soon you’ll be shouting your boyfriend over to show him the new tricks and spins you can do!
(My boyfriend jumped on the pole and did a shoulder mount the first time he tried. I banished him too and told myself it’s okay because it was the ugliest shoulder mount I’ve ever seen – legs flying out at all angles hehe – and mine will eventually look much nicer!)

The first time I put my X-pole up, it moved after a few spins. I nearly swore off the thing forever but it just took a few tries until I got the hang of putting it up. My problem was that the dome wasn’t compleeetely flat on the ceiling – I blame it on me being so short I couldn’t really see… but I think I was just too impatient to get going. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
You’ll be fine once you get it sussed – they feel really solid when they’re put up properly, even on carpet! :]

I’m a bit disappointed, to be honest. The portable one is priced way beyond me, but I did sort of expect that. Still, I wonder how many they’ll sell at that price?
I was really looking forward to a skinny one I could put up in the flat but the semi-permanent one doesn’t spin! I can’t go screwing poles into my roof ’cause I rent, plus I’d probably have to buy a new one every time I moved ’cause they’re one-piece poles :[
Oh well, I suppose I’ll just have to get a bit stronger instead of cheating and buying a super skinny pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Potassium can help…like bananas a cucumbers
Oooh, I’m going to start scoffing more bananas and see if that helps! My feet cramp sometimes too. I know it’s not ’cause of too little water or calcium and I’m rarely in heels. The sole of my foot normally gets tight, then my toes start sticking out at funny angles/curling up of their own accord. I usually have to stop dancing ’cause it keeps coming back. :[Hope your foot cramps go away soon – I know what a pain they can be!

my horse riding instructor helped give me the courage to get right back on a pony that had thrown me off, when i was littler . i’m always thankful that she did that ’cause now i’ve more self confidence to try things again, even if i muck it up the first time. it’s not nearly as bad but i donked the back of my head on my pole the first time i did a cross knee release – i was a bit iffy on trying it again but i’m glad i did!

congrats https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
i love it when a new trick comes to you almost unexpectedly!
-
thank you :]
looks like i need to work on my strength a bit then!

i’ll swap you my carpet for your hardwood floor? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif i’m nursing a lovely carpet burn on one knee just now so, though i don’t have any suggestions for what kind of mat to go for, i would stay away from carpet-y rugs!
those jigsaw mats look fab. i’ll need to have a look and see what kind of places sell them in the uk.
