Sally Beauty sells some relatively cheap ones that I like to thicken up a little bit. I got some off of clip fancy.com and they’re gorgeous, good quality, come in different textures, are long, and the price is decent. Check ’em out.

I agree w/ Chem and Ember, I've used the Sally product and the protein filler and it works great.  I've also used Colorfix and it sucked compared to the one from Sally's.  Good luck!

Happy fifth!!! This is a beautiful place and I love the fact that it started from a grass roots love to pole.  It's neat to look back at all the really good polers and see that they were beginners once too! xoxo

Home Depot has a decent sized one super cheap (it's a basic wall mount type for a bathroom or such) so check out their website/store.  I found two huge mirrors on craigslist for next to nothing, one is 6×5 and the other 4×5.  They were ones ppl took out when remodeling their bathroom.  Good luck!

I would go with the TG, it seems to be (for most) better for grip…

I WISH my man would pole with me!! He played football in college and is in great shape (kind of looks like JungleCat actually) and the couple times I've gotten him on the pole he was phenominal!! I would love to do a doubles routine with him (or just pole jam).  Here and there I show him some of the guys on here, and he's impressed….I think he wants to, he's just battling his ego lol. I don't plan on giving up though!

I have two girls, 12 and 6, and they have free access to my pole.  I wholeheartedly agree w/ Goldie and w/ Lyme, that it's a branding issue (b/c of  negative mental associations)….pole dance=strip club (to a lot of ppl), whereas pole fitness=???, they just don't know, and this is where we, as pole dancers, can create a positive mental association with the word.  When I tell someone I pole dance I know where their mind usually goes, until I show them some vid's on youtube or SV, then it opens up a whole nother area they never knew existed (holy sh*t, that's gymnastics!!!).  Pole will always have a dual connotation, but my goal is to remove the solely negative association that a lot of ppl have.  It's becoming more and more accepted, with all the pole studios going up etc. etc….a lot of people frowned on the Beatles initially too, and Christopher Columbus was told he'd fall off the edge of the flat Earth…but look how that turned out 🙂 Rock on fellow polers!!!

I'm 31 and noticed cellulite on the backs of my thighs about a week ago (in a 3 way mirror at a department store)…I can tell I'm aging more gracefully than I would've thought because my reaction was 'oh well, more to shake'.  I embrace it 🙂  I also have little spider veins showing up on one of my calves like a little road-map lol.  It is what it is.

I worked in a club as a cocktail waitress a few years back (a very well known high end club), so I saw the good, bad, and the ugly.  From my experience my comments are this; the dancers usually make about the equivalent as the waitresses and bartenders, and slightly more than the door girl.   Not every man that goes into a club is a 'bad' person, I met a lot of very respectful men there, most enjoy a conversation more than anything.  There is a lot of sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, not every dancer is on something but the majority are.  The big paydays are hit and miss, the real money is made by either 1. acts that compromise the self worth of a human being, or 2. by giving out your number and 'hanging out' with customers outside the club.  There's lots of jealousy and I have seen more than one physical altercation between employees, always over money.  Most amateur nights are rigged, and overall it's a hard job that will eventually burn you out, the window of opportunity is small.  The money is good but looks fade, and you will have no health plan or a 401K.  If it's truly your bag then rock on, I myself love strip clubs, and there's nothing better than making it rain on a dancer who truly enjoys entertaining, but if you're desperate for money (as I was at the time) you're better off waiting tables at a TGIFriday's….that's a much less benign chapter to leave in your legacy.

Just a side-note for all the ladies with a Clarisonic; I've had the full size one for going on four years now and it's still working great, and my skin has improved a ton.  I also have used the Clarisonic (sonicare)  toothbrushes for the last fifteen years and they seem to last about seven to eight years before they konk out.  So hopefully the Clarisonic has a similar lifespan, because even though they're a little pricey they're well worth it given the effectiveness and how long they last 🙂 Oh, and I use generic pHisoderm cleanser with mine, it's the same consistency as the expensive brands Sephora recommends and I think it works just as well.
