Lina Lynette – that's exactly how I got onto it also! Ive always been horribly awkward at the corkscrew spin with the baseball grip and randomly tried the true grip one day as well – not really inteding to do so, it just kinda happened.  I also found it less painful and a better grip!

Then several days later I happened across this video on a friends facebook page and seen her try the spinning straddle.

I figured why not, so did it with a static hold and loved it but I agree, I also find it great for the spinning straddle, I find I get a much better grip and can spin much more.

But you are right, its not for everyone in the static. Out of 4 friends trying it in a static, 2 liked it, 2 didnt. But hey…. YAY for options!

I just think its funny how these things "happen"  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Notice how the person that started this topic has not replied in 6 days? Seems to me she was just looking to start and argument and get some attention. Lets all move on….

Hey Ladies, I wanted to jump in here too! Cocoa0 is right! You dont need the scale!

Take this into consideration…. your muscle mass accounts for approximately 40% of your total body weight!  So think about how much muscle you have as a poler!

Since I started pole almost 3 years ago Ive put on 30 lbs but actually buy smaller clothes now. So the total weight that scale says is NOT the number to focus on.

Its all about how YOU feel.  In the pole community we are breaking society's view of pole being related to strippers, so lets break the society view of what healthy is. It doesnt mean that if you are skinny you are healthy, most skinny people who dont work out have a higher body fat content than those that do work out!

Hey Dustbunny, yeah pretty much. The name is copywritten. You could in theory do one just called a different name, but I think the fear there is stepping on toes. But that is what we are looking at in Saskatoon is doing a smaller scale – not provincial one and having it an internal name or something.

I agree though, it is strange no one else has done one. At least that we know of…..

    Hey Ladies!

    here is the reason(s) why…

The people that run Miss Pole Dance Canada, years ago purchased all the provincial names which means no one else can run a Miss Pole Dance (province) unless they are holding the regionals for Miss Pole Dance Canada. There would need to be a host studio and that host studio would hold it in their city/province and send the winners (expenses paid) to Miss Pole Dance Canada.

In Saskatoon we have been playing with the idea however since pole is fairly new to this province in the last 3 years, we may not have many compete. We are toying with the idea of doing a smaller scale for the first year and not sending the winner to Miss Pole Canada, and it wouldnt be called Miss Pole Dance Saskatoon because we cant do that. So we may do a studio version or something….

Hey there! old thread but I just got this today!! YAY!

The things that helped me were:

    1) placing my bottom hand lower than I originally had it – so yes, close to the floor as possible.

(now my strong arm (right) I kept on top, not on the bottom – everyone is different)

    2) took my right leg and swung it forward then back – think of trying to go into a reverse grab spin or something – opening your legs and reaching back with that leg.

Thos were the 2 biggest things for me. Now it seems easy as pie!

Im sure you got it by now as this is over a year old but….
