I think the thicker wood, would give me a better peace of mind, and that’s a good suggestion about doubling up too.

    Thanks so much.

Hi StrangeFox and thank for the reply. Don’t have envy, I probably won’t be going that high since I’m only just starting out again, I’ll be close to the floor for a while.

Hmmmmm sounds interesting, will look into that, but I thought there had to be some kind of support behind the mount, or is that only for the using the dome.

Also, can the photo I attached be seen. I can’t see it posted, and it think seeing it gives a better understanding of what I’m dealing with.

I agree with poleadventures. For me doing yoga really help with getting lower in splits, and increased my flexibility in general. I have the fit and bendy dvds, she gives a lot of good instructions, and have a very calm voice, but I felt like I was plateauing. I also have cleo’s rocking legs and abs, but I do that sparingly. Unfortunately, I’ve never tried veena’s stretching vids, but hopefully someday soon.

My splits aren’t flat yet, but I found that I’ve gotten much deeper with adee’s flows, they are interestingly and most importantly she reminds you “to breathe and listen to your body” which is very important when stretching. You can also try kinoyoga as she gives good tips, and tells you where should be engaged, and where should be relaxed.

In any case best of luck to you, on your splits and flexy journey.

    Hiiiiii

You should try talking to your teachers about it, and maybe they will allow you to work on something else while everyone is working on something that you are not comfortable with. Also suggest that they include some more dancing along with the tricks.

Time to scrape myself up and get back on

When I was going for my first class in pole my mom was saying to me, why would you want to do THAT, but I just explained it to her and showed her some vids and she was ok with it. My bestfriend was allllll for it. So as long as the people the people i hold dear have no problem with it im fine, others can talk till their teeth fall out and stare till they go blind, I dont care. For your issue she sounds like she was on a mission to take you down.
Ignore her and let people know
    its pole
    Its a fitness activity
And that they should go and educate themselves

    hi chemgoddess1
Im still doing my calculation process and trying to decide which one to do, the stand alone or the one which would be attached, (although I saw a tutorial on youtube for a removable pole), while trying to find someone here that sells the galvanized steel, I found one place but I have to call tomorrow cause they are closed on weekends.

I thought about it and I dont think it would come up to as much as we think, an x-pole is 299usd or lets say 300usd flat when I convert that to my currency that is 598bbd then to add shipping 190usd or 380bbd when I inquired, and then when it gets here I would also have to pay to get it from customs not sure how much that one would be. So I would be looking at no less than 900bbd.
    ohhhhh currency conversion.

The used poles that I have seen are still about the same with people selling for 1-something to 200usd then I would probably also have to pay for shipping and handling, then customs. So I think that its just about the same as if I was to get an x-pole.

Anyways thanks again for the input much appreciated I’ll find out about the pipe and go from there.

darcit thanks for the input I thought about that with the stand alone i was thinking about using concrete blocks in all the corners along with some cement bags but i still want to try it cause my mother would always say to me “nothing beats a trail(try) but a failure.” so i going to try the one i saw on a website

    http://www.instructables.com/id/Mobile-Stripper-Pole-no-need-to-attach-to-ceiling/

i copied and pasted it the red and black one is what i am going after but wider.

    Thanks again

    Thanks Veena well noted

Tropicalpole thanks for the info about being in my climate region and on an island. The studio I used to go to used chrome only so trying any other type was not really an option. I had always thought of getting the chrome, and I thought as much that I would have to look for at aleast $500usd to get it, then ill still have to add more money to that for when it gets out of customs here, so thanks so much cause its not something that I would have wanted to make such a mistake -an expensive mistake- on by ordering something that I still would not have been able to use. Anyway im aiming for the end of this year maybe into the new year to get it cause I had to give up classes but I am not giving up on my pole money savings and hopefully the price of the poles will stay at least at $299 usd. You’ve been a great help. Happy and safe poling, I hope to be joining the masses sometime soon.
