I still had grip issues ever when the room was cold. I think it may be because I have dry skin and so my palms start to sweat a lot? I’m not really sure. Anyway I sold my pole to a friend and bought a new shiny titanium gold x pole! I find the grip much better and I don’t notice the joints or anything like that. If you want to try out the titanium one you’re more than welcome to, I’m a stay at home mom so I’m always free. I’ve never tried brass, is it easy to spin on those? It’s weird, when I danced years ago they had a stainless steel pole which is the slickest of all finishes and I never had a problem with it. My chrome was sooo slippery though, odd!

I was asking about the routines on her website, maybe I’ll give her an email. Thanks!

Hey guys! I’m in mount pleasant! I’ve been a little slack at poling lately because I’m nervous about the popcorn ceiling at the house I’m renting and I don’t take lessons https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Maybe when I move in a couple weeks I’ll have a good spot to put my pole so I can use veena’s lessons again

I have popcorn ceilings and we’re renting too. I don’t think it’ll do too much damage, might take some of the popcorn off but my husband’s friend says there’s some kind of spray that you can spray on it? We should all get together sometime!

I’m in Goose Creek!!! Getting ready to start lessons at Goddess Dance in S’ville the first of October! I have no experience pole dancing, do not have my own pole (yet) but am excited to learn! Would be great to get in touch with both of you!!

My husband works in Goose Creek at the base down there. I’ve driven past that studio before! If you want to come to the bbq on Saturday let me know and I’ll message you all the info. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I hope that’s not weird… It’s hard to make friends when you’re a stay at home mom and go to school online, so I figure studioveena’s a good a place as any!

Veena-Just started your strength exercises yesterday and my shoulders kill today! It’s a good hurt though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Gonna work on the core stuff in your lessons today.

Loopy- Well we’re not in Charleston, we’re actually in Summerville. We were thinking about having a bbq this weekend so I’ll get back to you with times and such if you wanted to go. Yay for drinks and debauchery!

i found some really cheap way. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif (no need for buying expencive grip-creams)
I am practising and performing with man shaving foam.
    https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif yeees really.
I jsut put it on my hands, legs, arms… everywhere where i need grip, and just wipe it down with a towel (without water). You will smell like a man, but you will be glued on it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Try it and tell my how it went! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’ll try that on my next pole day! My husband’s shaving cream smells good too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Hi–
I’m also in the Charleston area. I’ve been taking studio lessons for over a year, but I still don’t have a pole at home. How do you like your Xpole? I’m jealous. My lessons are great, but I think I would do so much better if I could practice on my own time.

You definitely should invest in one! I learned when I was dancing in a club years ago and just had to get one. For as long as I’ve had it though, I’ve had grip issues. The pole I learned on was stainless steel so I thought chrome would be cake, but I slip and slide all over it now(not that I can do much of anything now, pregnancy took a toll on my my muscles!). I really want a titanium gold but am saving up still, so in the meantime I’m going to try to adjust the temperature in my poll room and try some grip aids. Maybe we can jam together sometime, we just moved here and I don’t know too many people yet and it would be fun to have someone to poll with. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks ladies. For tomorrow’s practice I’ll turn up the AC a little bit, usually we keep it about 78 in here because I’m cold all the time so maybe after warming up and running on the treadmill it’s too hot in the room when it’s finally time to pole. I also went ahead and just ordered some mighty grip as well, I’m determined to get rid of this problem!
