Anatomy of Movement
Book by Blandine Calais-GermainThis is a great book. That being said, if you are more interested in practical ways to condition your self for Pole then I would go through Veenas conditioning exercise… If you are hurting yourself you should go back to the basics to figure out where the weak link is in the chain. Then you will be able to choose the exercises that will be the most effective.
Ps.. Usually ( not always) the exercises we like the least and don’t want to do give us a clue on what we need to work on. -

I agree with what you are saying. The people who are trying to change the system when they use a coupon will do that regardless. I don’t think the coupon makes them do it. I think it’s the people who are that way anyway. When I run coupons I have already put the extra classes into place, believe me there is no money is coupons…it’s advertising for me. In my opinion advertising is an expense. I prepare for it to be an expense. If it because a wash I would be thrilled…but you do retain clients from it and that is profit.

MemberNovember 8, 2013 at 7:19 am in reply to: what are studio owners doing wrongDiscounts on occasion are a great way to show appreciation to your current clients and to entice future clients to try your product. The Value in the Discounts sites is the advertising, social media exposure, higher listing on the internet, and it creates an environment for people to try something they are curious about. IF YOUR BUSINESS CANNOT KEEP THE CLIENT, THATS THE BUSINESSES FAULT. not the coupons. Maintaining the integrity of your business at all times, regardless of discount or not and it will bring you great rewards. When I run promos…I have certain classes those people can go into, so that my current clientele can still enjoy their sessions without having a new person slow them down. If my current clients want to take part in the discount they are welcome too, but they have to go into those “other” classes too. Maintain quality at your facility and always do a little more than you think you should, and never underestimate or undervalue each and every client.
What business owners are doing wrong…
1.Thinking it will be easy
2.thinking that everyone will think just like you do
3.not being able to adapt to their clientele and employes’s wants and need
4.competing with the competition.. you opened a business to bring your presence into the market…stop poaching and coping others peoples ideas and ways.
5. learning the business side.
6. call people back and communicate well
7. keep your place cleanI have successfully owned and managed my facility for over ten years. I consider myself someone who is qualified to answer this question from an owners point of view. Until you walk a mile in someone’s shoes you will not have a clue about what their life is really like. Speculation is a dangerous friend.

MemberOctober 6, 2013 at 5:11 pm in reply to: YOUTUBE. I’M NOT STEALING MUSIC. CHILL.Dear Ms. Deausen,
I recognize that you are a fitness studio. We license group fitness as a part of our dance school license. There are hundreds of licenses that we offer, all of which whose rates are significantly higher. This is the license that best fits your business.
I understand you may have never heard of ASCAP or music licensing, therefore, I will attach several links that you can use for your research. ASCAP is a performing rights organization that has been operating since 1914. We represent over 450,000 songwriters and more than 8,000,000 works.
Under the U.S. Copyright Law, copyright owners are granted a number of exclusive and separate rights. Among them are the rights to perform music publicly, whether live or via mechanical means, such as compact disc, tape, radio, video or other methods, the right to record music and distribute copies of music. Music that is purchased, rented, downloaded or otherwise distributed to the public does not carry with it the right of public performance.
Below are several links providing more specific information:

http://thedancebuzz.blogspot.com/2011/01/studio-owner-buzz-music-licensing-faq.html*If you are the owner of a business that incorporates music, the responsibility to obtain a license falls upon you as clearly defined by Congress and US Copyright Law. The annual licensing rate for a studio is determined by the amount of students and the type of dance.
I will follow up with you in one week to give you plenty of time to review this information with the appropriate person.
Sincerely,
Alexander I. Ashworth

CHILL.I think you might misunderstand me Raven… I am only trying to find a loop hole for having to have to pay the companies that are saying you have to pay them to play your radio or your iPod. (which are songs I purchased) at your fitness studio while you have clients.
And honestly, I would suspect that the artists and the companies that have produced the music are the ones who have implemented this law.

MemberOctober 6, 2013 at 8:25 am in reply to: YOUTUBE. I’M NOT STEALING MUSIC. CHILL.You legally have to pay for the right to use any music in almost any situation except your home and car.
This is Very simplified…but I have to pay for the rights to play the radio in my Pilates and Aerial fitness studio while classes are being taught. They are some exceptions to this very complicated issue. -
I think it is very normal and common to have the blues after a big life event like that.. It really can’t go perfect, there is just too much emotion in the whole wedding thing for everyone. If it were me….I would embrace the “mistakes”…. (It’s like that “thing” when you were a kid that everyone use to tease you about is what makes you special today)
It sounds like you have some great memories that you and your husband can have a good laugh about in all the years to come. At my wedding, one of my husbands best friends went around to everyone (drunk) and asked them why they didnt try to stop the train reck from happening and try talk my husband out of getting married to me. We found out a couple months later what he did….they are still friends because I told my husband to let it go and stay friends..it is “his friends” issues and not ours. Also the wedding official somehow didnt get our revised vows and blabbered on and on and on..it was a total comedy..my husband and I almost started laughing with every new paragraph. (I tell you….that was a huge deal, because my mother in law is really a certain religion and I am not the same as hers and I edited the vows to be more respectful….but those vows went out the window)You guys have your whole life ahead of you and you will face bigger drama and this is only a test to see how you two manage it together.
Have a wonderful life together.
