I've always heard that once you really start to "piss' some people off then you've hit the big time. Successful businesses are never loved by everyone. Some people just cannot be happy for other peoples success and good fortune. I can tell that you and your husband have put in a tremendous amount of work into this site and business. I can see that you have your heart and soul into it and that's why I LOVE it. I even love it more knowing that your husband is a part of it too.
I'm newer to the pole world and my husband stood by me when I decided to put us into debt over added it to my Pilates studio and going through the whole certification thing and such. I've even drug him to some pole competitions. I didn't start doing this until about 42 years old…so it was a risk that I might not even be able to DO IT. So I'm not super fab yet, but I love what this has done for the women I have met. ( Also, some of the men. IE Pole Dan Fan, but I havent met him yet)
Veena and Webbie….dont stop what you are doing!

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 1:02 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?How about everyone saying how awessome XPole, PS, and LM are. I love my PS because it is so much more comfortable for me, and I love how it goes all the way up to the ceiling. I love my LM because it is so easy to set up and when I dont stick very well it's a life saver. And I love my Xpole, because it is so easy customize to fit my needs if I travel with it. (Sorry…dont know about any other pole makers:(….)

MemberJanuary 3, 2012 at 8:47 am in reply to: so ,.. is this how u get into thos move?I just posted this on my you tube channel. I call it the "Rib Cracker." I have to really push the pole as close to my to top of my hip as I can. I certainly haven't mastered it, but at least I didn't break my ribs this time. That kept me off the pole for a very long time. Ribs are hard to heal.

MemberJanuary 1, 2012 at 11:27 am in reply to: teaching pole: how many hours max?Ps… age has actually helped me, not hurt me. I'm 42 and have more endurance then I did 20 years ago when I taught. I'm smarter, I know how to take care of my tool (my body and mind), I spot better and safer now, I have better body alignment, and know when to stop and take a break.

MemberJanuary 1, 2012 at 9:24 am in reply to: teaching pole: how many hours max?You might want to also consider how the day lays out. The times you teach might be easy or very hard. You have to work with your own body clock. I start my days at 7am with teaching Pilates and Barre Fusion. Later morning I ad the Aerial fitness classes and more Pilates and Barre..The rest of the day goes like that intil about 5 or 6pm. ( there are of course breaks inbetween classes and privates. I work 6 days a week and end of teaching about 25 to 40 hours of classes a week. (it depends on my other instructors availabilty on how much I work) I also certify instructors in Pegasus Barre Fusion Classes every few months. (This is my biz, so it's all I do. I put about 60-70 hours a week into it with all the admin and other stuff) I used to start some days at 6am, but I always felt a little sick to my stomach the rest of the day and way too tired that I had to stop. (I did it for 7 years and hated every day I did it) I also have a hard time witht the late night classes. I'm fried. Typically fitness hours our more like a split shift. I think it would be harder to have to teach only one class at a time then have a few hour break, then to put a couple all together. So consider your 'tooling up time" too. Getting there before students, preping for the class, picking music, driving, giving yourself enough time to eat, to change….My guess is that it would be easier to teach 3 shifts of the (10 classes) a week..verses teaching 6 shfits..because the more shifts the more prep you have.
Physically you will learn to pace yourself. I am not really getting a very good workout when I teach, because I am teaching, I have to also do my workouts on top of teaching. (Cardio, Pilates, and Pole…what nice about the Pole is that now I don't have to do weights for my upper body anymore) If it is a choreographed class…thats more physically tiring. It easier to demo…then coach. I'm always walking around adjusting people and such or changing equipment springs, hand placements….blah, blah, blah..
I always tell people to follow your gut, and you wont know until you try. Can you ask just to take a few more classes and be a subber? then you can try it out. I appreciate instructors just being honest with me. If she is the owner she can pick up the slack… I always do.

MemberDecember 31, 2011 at 9:04 am in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?I have been on this website for about a year now. I have to say I have never noticed it being biased towards any company. I am a vendor for Xpole, LM, and PS….and the "kickback" or actually the commission is quite small. I was motivated to by my first PS from this website. I've received great customer service from all the companies. I've found for my self and for my clients that everyone prefers a diiferent pole. I dont think Veena needs to be a vendor for every type of product. That's ridiculous.

Usually when someone is this upset about something this inconsequental it means that there is really something else going on. Often…when I find that I am unrealistly bothered by something it means I should take a good look at myself and see what it is about MYSLEF that I am having a problem with. Are you just having an off day? I'm noticed everyone on here as being kind and supportive. I'm sure that they could help you with whatever it is you are going through. If you dont figure it out,. You will just end up feeling worse. Negativity is unhealthy and it will just fester inside of you.

I have the PFA ones. I never look at them anymore. Too exspensive for what you get. Just download the free one. I think Veena's short video's are better. You Tube to find new moves. The cards are VERY general, and they wont describe anything. I actually certified with OC Pole Fitness. ( the group that took a big part in making those cards.) If you dont have a discription of how to get in and out of the move then it's harder to figure out. I think the videos from Felix are over priced too. They are better than most, but still a little disappointment for the money.

Does anyone know how the Tony shoes compare with the Pleaser and the Ellie?

I would love a pole bra that actually fit. I have a small rib cage 34DD and the bras are always too big around the rib cage and too small on the boobs. It would be great if they were more adjustable in the places around the rib cage, over the shoulders and had enough breast coverage….(not body coverage) Hate shelf bras. They always cut right across the nipple and your boob is hanging out the bottom. Great look. Also you need your breats to be able to move a little. Some transitons are difficult, because you boob is stuck on one side while you are trying to get on the other side. I'm also older, so it should be supportive. If you dont have enough support your tummy skin gets scrunchy too. It needs to pull them up a little, instead of resting in the bra.

Professional dress is very important. Look nice, arrive early (very important) do not chew gum. Brush your hair, your teeth, and for god sake…eat something before you see me so that your brain is working. Bring a basic resume…dont lie or over exagerate! I know it and I check. Also….at least read my website and try to figure something out about this business. I only accept certain trainers with certain certifications. If you want to get one of those, then I am a little more open.
Dont try to be a superstar. ( sorry all you princess out there…I want someone who is going to be more concerned with the client then how great you are.. You are also a pain in my buttee when it comes to other things!) I want to hear what you are passionate about and what you would like to learn more of. If you are new say it. new is not always bad…that means you are moldable, fresh, and motivated. I intern all my intructors, pay them badly at first, and see if they can stick it out for a month or so. Then it gets a lot easier after that, and a lot more profitable. Believe me…I put a HUGE amount of time into my trainers. YOU are MY reputation.
Bring Pole clothes…Dont start in heels. If I like you I might have you teach me a couple things. If we dont get to that part..I'm not interested.
Good luck…Happy Poling.
Also, I hate emails that are two sentences long, saying how fabulous you. I'm not going to call you or email you. If you send me an email, then call, then come by..that shows good protocall. Best to email first, Leave a message saying you will drop by with a "resume" then come back in a couple of weeks if I haven't called you. I like determination.
