If ur legs r dry, no grip, if you have the wrong lotion, no grip, if ur legs r cold, no grip. Try scrubbing your legs with a damp hot towel. If you legs feel a little dewy and tacky you will stick…but make sure your legs are not wet though…then I would invest in ..some else already mentioned that

I’ve had my x 40 for a few days now…at first I only cleaned it with alcohol…still sloppy..then I used acetone and after I took a hot wet towel and rubbed the dickens out it. Now it grips great, and I’m old, cold, and a little rusty…( just a joke, but I’ve always had grip issue with my legs..very dry)

I would recommend a 45 chrome…not as slippery as a stainless… And when you go to different studios it won’t be such a stretch if you end up on a stainless. You sounds very petite and a 50 might give you some limitations at first…but I am sure as you get more advanced you will be able to work on a 50 too. The competitions r moving towards using 45 chromed mostly…
I have a ill minx 50 and coated..the coated is great for beginners..but you end up growing out of it and it becomes a backup pole.. I have a 45 platinum stages stainless and love it..and I just the 40chrome from xpole.. I have very small hands and a short waste so the smaller size will allow me to practice moves I just can’t do on a 50… And it’s a stretch on the 45. I have to say the xpole is a beautiful pole.. I tried some of their older versions..but the new one is an amazing piece of a equipment.. Solid as a rock

I think its normal to have different aspects of life you might keep more private. You could call it Aerial Fitness if you want to be discreet.

I think they sell the same poles to both…it's probably the climate or environment. I sometimes (very rarely) use acetone on my pole to give it a deep clean.. Maybe it has a little residue on it from something. When it's dry and cold I use a streamer…it adds moisture and warms up the pole.

Keep going. The Pole community is a wonderful place where women (and men) can be in an environment where "potential and progress relative to the unique individual" is what matters. I started Poling in my 40s.. My first class I just watched everyone else, but now I just want to figure out what I am tring to learn and I dont even pay attention to what other people look like or what they are doing in general. (unless its a really cool trick and I'm trying to figure out how to do it) In a class situation everyone is excited for someones' improvement. Not who is "the best." As you get deeper into pole you will realize that there are all "types" in pole, buts that what we love about pole. Breaking the boundries of perception of one "should or could do."

In my opinion a certification doesn’t always guarantee that someone will be a great teacher. A great teacher will always seek out ways to improve their teaching skills. And…just because someone can do a “trick” doesn’t mean they can teach it. A great teacher needs to be able to understand the steps and process of the movement.
The teachers I would be cautious of are the ones that think they don’t need to be an expert in there craft. They are the ones who think that since They can do the move or They might be a great performer equals great teacher.

  • I’ll try that. Probably cheaper than PP.

Too bad there wasn’t a place that had climate rooms with all the poles to try to see.. Everyone is so unique. Aye jay.. I have a 45mil platinum stages stainless..a 50 ill mynx coated and a 50 mil ill mynx stainless.. I’ve used my friends xpoleus stainless and that was super slippery for me..the lilmynx stainless is 2nd in the slip factor, and my PS is 3rd on the slip factor.. Sometimes my ill mynx has so much grip it will rip my skin off. I can’t even climb brass for some reason..so so slippery for me.

My point..I live near San Diego..you can try mine if u want..
