My dad is very supportive though! (BTW, we’re Chinese. Pole dancing is seen as an athletic activity there. They don’t have strip clubs in China, though they do have “sexy dancing on poles” in bars, fully clothed of course.

MemberApril 9, 2013 at 12:10 am in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersI suspect more strippers would do more pole work if it was actually appreciated. Case in point: packed club Sunday night (NCAA Final Four in my city) — I'm on the pole, rockin' out with shoulder mounts, jades, butterflies, all kinds of relatively high-level stuff… I get a few dollars on my stage. Meanwhile, girl on the next stage just stands there and shakes her ass a little. She's got people making it rain on her. She made at least $250, I made $50. Pole work just isn't profitable, so why bother risk breaking your neck for an unappreciative audience?

Thanks everyone! I suspect it's overuse; I'm going to take it easy the next week and keep it wrapped, which helps a lot with the pain. If anything, it'll be a good excuse for me to practice all my tricks on my other side. At least until my other wrist gives out, ha! Thankfully I have a month off coming up soon…
@MemphisKitten – we do 3 song sets. Depending on the DJ, the length of the songs vary. The dayshift guy cuts them off at 3-3:30, but the night shift guys let the entire song play out. So I would estimate that my sets average around 10-12 minutes, generally?

I have a couple pairs of these guys as well, and mine were all but ruined after about 12-15 wears. I love them so much, though, that I ended up just going at it with a sewing needle and thread and stitching them back together ;P I also agree with the sewing in an X-pattern to make the strips stay better – that was actually going to be my next step!
Alternatively, you could try wearing those vinyl ankle boots while poling?
