I use Dermal-K cream. 5% vitamin K. Definitely works a hell of a lot better than arnica for me, except a little pricier. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00021Z5HU/ref=mp_s_a_4?qid=1338954215&sr=8-4

However, after reading some of these posts I’m curious to try Black and Blue and see how that measures up…

I think that it’s great you’re writing this. But, what do you mean by “hoochie coochie dancers”?? For me when I hear “hoochie coochie” I think of skanky drunk chicks in barely-there clothing obscenely dancing in public to get attention… Do you mean strippers/nude dancers? Club dancers in general? If your wondering why exotic dancers do what they do, I would definitely take a trip to the local strip club and find out. There’s even people here on SV that will give you some insight (myself included). There are many club dancers that do all the crazy tricks and put on a performance night after night, but the majority don’t. Many of competitive polers worked in gentlemens clubs as some point, so I do think that there’s some influence in the history of the sport, in addition to other aerial arts.

romangoddess – I'm in north Jersey (bergen/passic county area). If I take any classes, it's would be in NYC at Body & Pole or NY Pole. However, there's Wellness on the Green in Morristown. Not totally inpressed by their videos, but they're getting a new pole instructor, Marina Cavallini (who is awesome), so it might be worth a shot checking out.

Oh, I still have superman pain… My shoulder (i only do right shoulder) doesn't hurt anymore. I think it's a combination of your body getting used to it, and learning the right placement. It's so second-nature to me that i know where the pole needs to go. One thing with dismounting, you have make sure that you tuck in enough so you place the pole on your shoulder before dismounting. Since I haven't been on here in quite some time, i decided to upload some pics, and there's one where im holding ina cup grip dismount in a straddle. I could hold that for days!

I'm a cup grip girl. It's they way I learned years ago and it's just stuck. Yes, you have to be careful where on your shoulder is on the pole because you DON'T want it on the collar bone, more on your trap (on the muscle NOT bone lol). Yes, you'll bruise for a while (like with any new pole move). I feel like i have a lot of control and stability with especially with dismounts, super shoulder mounts, getting into death lays, etc… However, I would like to use the twisted grip or veena once in a while, but never really felt comfortable for me. Nevertheless I use shoulder mounts allll the time when dancing and performing and always cup grip. 🙂

Are you still trying to sell pole? And if so, how much?

I work in NYC, and love Hustler. The girls there are awesome, and as long as you can work it, the chest doesn’t make a difference. If you can really work that pole (which it seems you can) then you should make some good tips dancing. It’s only topless (I don’t think NY has full nude, but I could be wrong). However, just keep in mind, the real $$$ is in lapdances https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

    GOOD LUCK!

I’m hoping to dance one day too, but the hours don’t fit into my schedule very well at the moment… One day tho..
