hey i am in the same boat! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif i was FINALLY to my goal weight, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif than had alot of vacation time over a couple months and gained 15lbs! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif i lost 5, but have 10 or maybe 15 to get to where i would like to be. i have also noticed my workouts have been really cut back time and frequency wise. if you would like to be "Goal Buddies" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_profileright.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_profileleft.gif we could try to exchange tips, recipes, motivation, etc i mean as much as your time allows. i have alot of good advice as i lost a ton of weight after ending an unhealthy relationship, and did it w/o pills, special ldiets etc https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_study.gif i did things like limit eating out to no more than 2x tops and got kids meals when went to fast food w water. blot my pizza, aalways take the stairs, park far away (as long as it’s safe to do so), keep your kitchen stocked w healthy food (if you want junk you’ll have to go out and get it and more often than not you won’t. )make it easy for yourself to win. wash and cut fruit and veggies as soon as bring it home so when you want a snack or a side, you have healthy food waiting to go. no " it’s too much work/ time" exuses. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_ncool.gif find ways to be active that you enjoy. if you hate running, don’t run. swim, dance, lift weights, box etc. be creative. try to make healthier versions of foods you love. pizza = whole wheat crust, low sugar sauce, part skim mozzerella shredd cheese, your choice of veggies. healthy and yummy. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif it’s not huge leaps you need to take, it’s small steps that will keep you steady and sustained. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif i would love to have someone to do this w so if your intrested we can talk out here or exchange emails. take care https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

don’t worry about a thing, there’s tons of great advice out here and plenty of people happy to help. fastest way to lose love of pole is too take on too much too soon. i know the frustration of wanting to learn new moves and advance ( have been trying to learn jacknife for over a year!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif but hey i have lots of other moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif ) but really get comfortable w 1 or 2 things at a time before moving on. it will help when you want to start doing combo spins and inverts. so have faith, enjoy the process, and have fun!! we are always here for advice! good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

ya i was having pain in my right arm when trying this 1, but it’s coming along. just look awkward bc can’t reach both feet, but thanks for the hip tip https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
-
my hips do this. when i put my leg high out to the side mostly if been sitting too long. if there is no redness, pain, swelling, or aches it is more than likely just air moving between joints and not a problem https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

oh i LOVE hooping! and remeber there are plenty of wats to use it besides around your waist. i belive it was "shape" magazine that had a july or aug isssue this year where they featured a hoop workout. great fun and exersise! GOOD LUCK!!!

omg i know! my father almost died bc of a blood clot in his leg. my doc wants me on birth control pills bc of a cycst on my ovary that could turn cancerous, but i won’t bc am too worried about poling and clots w/o added risk of bc pills. i would be DEVASTATED if i couldn’t pole. i think my chances have gone down dramatically as am alot stronger and have better control now so am not bruised ankle to hip lik ei used to. rarely bruise at all anymore excpet if try knee hold too many times in a week. thanks for the concern though!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

MemberJuly 20, 2010 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Floor Body Roll And Shoulder Mount Questioni am also working on ariel shloulder mount ( my feet keep hitting the ceiling and scaring me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif LOL ) and just wanted to add remeber to engage your abs to protect your back. i try to sort of ben my knees and pull in towards chest and than extend legs up to grip pole. i prefer trying from side climb ( or however you can get into more of a figurehead than a dove so your more in position to just go. your hips will already be in front of pole. also would say don’t try this 1 too many times at once as can be straining if your not used to it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
oh if you want to talk to someone about body rolls as Fluer, she’s AMAZING w this. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

i personally need a warm grippy pole, warm legs, and be sure you and pole are very dry ( no sweat, residue ect) and i use the meatiest part of my upper inner thighs to grip. i cross my WHOLE leg from upper thighs to feet very tightly. you can use your hands to guide you down ( use a spotter you trust as will give you more confidence ( or atleast a big thick soft mat ) … also you can try a little grip aid in the inner thigh area plank hmm reverse or reg>? Well regular is very simple just hold pole w dom (strong) hand a little low on the pole as your sitting on the pole (use again the upper inner thigh area to grip but remeber to tense and cross tightly whole length of legs)and when feel good about your grips extend your legs out straight w ankles crosed and lean away from pole so as horizontial as possible reaching non dom hand out and away sogoes w a nice straight laying back line.. you can add variations when ready. if you have veenas lessons you should check it out. i hope this helps some.
ps for me the right music makes a diffrence https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_DJ.gif good luck and keep trying. let us know how it goes! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

the more vid i see w r-pole the less sure i am.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif st saw a girl going a cartwheel mt, messed up ( like do when trying CW ) and moved the whole thing when she stumbled..mm.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif uld love something that isnt a huge hassle to set up and take down, but safety is #1… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif oh am so confused. buying a new pole should be exciting, but am ready to cry so frustrated and confused. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
will be using every last bit of "extra" money i have and will be eating ceral for dinner for awhile so it is so important to make the right choice. will be stuck w it for a verrrrrry long time.. oh boy.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking.gif -
so realllllly want to make my own pole for the yard, but am wicked nervous about doing something wrong and ending up w broken bones.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
i know some people have done this so am guessing it is possible .. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif anyone know of any tutorials of how to SAFElY make an outdoor pole>? am also considering stage pole, but hear so many conflicting things, not sure what to think about them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif -
thanks! i still have no idea what to do.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif it’s just kind of expensive so whatever i get has to be #1 safe #2 durable #3 user friendly if it weighs as much as a house and takes 3 peeps to set up..not going to work.. just not sure if it’s possible to have a stage/SA that is lightweight, but still heavy enough to take hard side spins.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif oh i sooo wish could try before buy ! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
