I like alot of those bands myself i’m really into the diffrent lollipop remixes (there’s the 1 with lil wayne, an accustic version, a rock version) and i have been listening to "addicted" by saving abel i also really like nickelback i enjoy so many styles of music so depends on mood/energy level i do think the harder rock/altenative stuff can be easier sometimes the slow ones are great, but you do have to remember to slow down your moves and really draw things out although i like to throw a fast accent in here and there on a slow song like doing a quick drop from crucifix well if I come across any other ( esp rock ) songs, will pass them along https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

ya taylor I hear you money can tempt you to do things that may not feel right for you, but waking up in the morning and being able to look at myself and not feeling regret is more important to me than waking up to a fatter wallet and a guilty concious ( sp. check please https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) I do what I do cause I love it not for money, not for someone elses pleasure https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

well this road trip is catching on maybe we can all pitch in and rent one of those crazy buses with poles built in so we can practice together on the road we’ll start a cross country pole dancing revolution!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

I agree Taylor having this forum and so many opinions is great I’m very open minded, but being able to hear other peoples point of view on things really lets you expand your ideas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

ya to me thats a bit of a turn-off i realize people are busy, but who isn’t? i work 2 jobs and have alot of other things going on yet I find a few minutes almost everyday to respond to these forums and it’s not like i’m asking for votes or asking you to buy my dvd, but then not being able to take the time to crank out a 30 second response i just don’t like that i think it’s amazing that Veena with 4 kids can still manage to be out here enough that you don’t feel like your on your own with things and to feel like your actually getting to know her
I just find her so much more down to earth I’m really glad I only bought 1 of leighanns dvds as my feeling are if you can’t be bothered neither can I thats how i am in real life i dont care how beauutiful/handsome, talented, rich, ect you are, if you have a snobby or arrogant attitude I automatically think you are eons less attractive than originally thought https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif i realize having alot of "fans" can goto your head, but come on… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif

wow see I have basically used you tube 90% of the time from day 1 to learn moves some people really take the time to break down moves in an easy to understand manner Veena used to (and I think still does) have some great videos that had really helped me before she even had the studio and alot of time I would just watch and study where hands/legs went I would think something like expert village would have quality videos
thanks for the heads up will know not to even bother that does sound dangerous joel as you were saying about the pole drops me myself I can get pretty brave sometimes, but I also know my limits your not going to see me attempting the death lay when I haven’t got the superman yet, but some people see these things and think "well that looks easy enough" not realizing how much strength/balance ect it takes and the potential for serious injury … uh-oh not good I really can’t understand why at the least they don’t warn people that you should be able to have mastered move A and B before attempting C I know one time I was in a club with poles (they are very close to the wall so no spins) and they are very tall i decided to climb to the top and slowly come down with legs in diffrent positions ect my friend was on the floor and she heard some girl standing behind her saying "..oh look at her..she thinks she’s all that cause she’s climbing the pole.." ect and i guess she thought it was super easy so she jumped up on the speaker ( the poles are on these huge speakers) and started trying to climb the pole she couldn’t get her feet off the ground now I’m glad she wasnt able to because she looked drunk and the pole was slippery so I have a feeling that could have ended badly but the point is people can look at some of these moves and think there’s nothing to it and end up seriously hurt these sites like expert village have a responsibility to there viewers to explain that this is fun, but if not done properly can be very dangerous
at the very least they should recommend a spotter and a mat sorry for such a long post i just find that so irresponsible https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif

wow! that was impressive https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif i have been stuggling to learn this move https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif I’m actually trying to learn that I think it’s called the reverse aysha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif (the mount you used to get into brass monkey)
I would also like to learn brass monkey, but haven’t learned straight edge or "reverse aysha" I can do shoulder mount, but not sure how I’d get into Brass Monkey that way the move I really want to get is straight edge, as you can get into many diffrent move once that’s mastered https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif
I don’t have anyone to spot me (BF is usually at work or sleeping when I have time to get on pole) so am a little hesitant to try some moves I haven’t ever had someone spot me, and have taught myself most of what I know from watching you tube videos, and now using the on-line lessons, but some moves make me feel if I dont get it right first try I’m going to land right on my head! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif any advice about how to safely as possible learn this move ( the most secure hand placement ect) would be greatly appreciated https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif how long have you been poling? March will make a year for me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

ya I have seriously considered getting rid of couch and getting overstuffed bean bags for floor so could have the room and the height well as said will have gold downstairs as is grippy finish good for inverts/poses/climbing (and thats all will be able to do downstairs) and chrome which is better for spins upstairs where plenty of room to move but no height when I get rich someday (have to think positive) I’ll have my own studio and a pole in every room!! poles for everyone!!! lol I do wish I had a better set up for it, but am just grateful to have 1 at all https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I get like that too I drive people around me especially my BF crazy with my music I get hooked on a song and wear it out I have some ideas for songs to use in posted vids but have been checking pandora for other ideas when have more time will write a list for anyone looking for music ideas https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I think getting a camera is a good investment it will help you to learn new and improve exsisting moves to be able see yourself (even if you have a big mirror, you can’t really get a good look at body/hand position ect
plus of cousre being able to post as well as having Veena and others see your "work" and be able to maybe give you advice on how to better something or let you know the reason your not geting a move is b/c hand is too high/low ect trying to explain by words what move your trying to do can get confusing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
and a big thing that I love about statring to tape myself is being able to look back at your videos as time goes on to see how you have improved or just to watch for fun is great i only wish I had started with that right from the start so could see how much I struggled with things I now do with ease I find that empowering and encouraging not to mention of course you can always use the camera to record other things you want to perserve on video I love photography so I realize how valuable videos and pictures get as time goes on
I have photos of friends and family that have passed away over the years and those photos are so precious to me now you just assume everytime you see/talk to a loved one there will be a next time, but life is too unpredictable to assume not to get too heavy, but I say take lots of pics and videos as they become more valuable to you over time especially the pics/vids we’re going to have from this crazy "girls with curls gone wild" video from our road trip!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif

Ya i usually go right to the hard stuff when checking out the video lessons (handspring, pencil mount ect ) but your right I really should check out her transitional moves good idea! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I wish there was a studio near me like that It’s actually what I would llove to do have my own studio with exotic dancing (belly, chair, lap, pole, ect) well you never know if you had told me a year ago I would have a pole in my house (and actually know some tricks) I would have laughed so maybe someday you’ll be getting an invite to the grand opening of my "pole for the people" studio https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Like i had said before I had the oppurtunity to strip when I was 19, but it didn’t feel right at the time and still don’t think it’s any way I could earn a living I love a good strip Tease, but getting topless ect isn’t for me (unless there’s alot of money in it for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) not that I think there’s anything wrong with it, but I like doing this for fun and I think having to do it wether or not I was in the mood for it (especially in front of a bunch of strangers) would take something away from it for me when i was real little I used to LOVE flowers i was always pointing at them and trying to grab them when I got a little older I was always in trouble with the neighbors for stealing flowers from there yards ect but when I graduated and went to work in a greenhouse/florist shop I hated it I hated having to do it for money as didn’t have a say in when i worked with flowers, what kind ect I just feel it would be the same with this to make a short story long https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I’m so serious I have been trying to get a road trip going for the longest time but i’m the one in the group who will just drop everything and be like "lets go!" and just want to find an adventure does your best friend have curly hair? if not we might need to change the title to something like "the road trip adventures of the curly and and straight mane girls…" doesn’t have quite the same ring, but we can work out the kinks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Actually lucked out big time tonight no work and am getting a personal day since it’s not my fault so yay!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
only down is BF is also not working tonight and wanted to hog the remote for a change owell ok better get on to next forum before this turns into a novel! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

I know right I would LOVE to attend something like this There really isn’t much going on pole wise in my area Have looked for regular clubs with poles in my area, but the 2 I have found .. well 1 the poles are on top of the bar which not only makes it alot more dangerous (up high on a narrow, slippery bar no way to step front or back just to one side of the pole or the other), but makes some moves impossible Crucifix into snake dive anyone?? lol I have gotten on those a few times in my day, but really not the best option and then the other club the poles are on top of giant speakers great except they are so close to the wall you literally can’t do 1 spin you can climb and invert, but thats where it ends there are a few exotic dance clubs but I think it’s more about stripping and grinding the pole in these clubs ( I have been to clubs where the girls can’t take clothes off so they have to focus on dance which i think is much more entertaining maybe b/c I am a woman and don’t have intrest in seeing whats under the costume ) I really wish there was a way to enjoy watching pole dancing/competions without all the seediness of some of the these clubs Honestly I would LOVE to open the first pole dancing studio in this area (closest ones around here are in Rhode Island -out of state or Boston which is an hour from here) I think there would be alot of intrest if people were able to explore this side of themselves in a safe, supporting enviroment but I don’t even know where to begin to post a video, never mind run a studio but a girl can dream right… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I’m telling you Taylor me you and I have to just pick up and go call it "The Road Trip Adventures of the Curl Girls" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif We’ll be like those 2 chicks in the areosmith video where the girls take off in a cool car and 1 of them ends up doing amateur night at a club (except we’ll both do it ) and picking up a cute guy along the way…except I don’t think my BF would like that so maybe we cold just pick up a cute puppy or a cute pair of boots for our shows… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif lol ok well I better get to bed soon am starting to get lost in dream world so I know I better get some sleep before have to go back to work (work 12am-8am then 1p-430p) Need some energy to practice (hopefully) later well hope you got a laugh out of this and hope everyone is well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
