this move has not really been attempted too much as although can do a good foward fold, and easily reach and grip the pole, i feel like when i go to go up i am going off to 1 side and i really don’t want to hurt my shoulder/back if i just sort of flop off to 1 side.. i am maybe not going itno it fast enough? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

i would never think less of an exotic dancer / stripper/ whatever! i mean we are emulating what they do! atleat a whole lot of us do! we grind our hips, we shake and bounce our bootys, we run our hands over our bodies, wear 6 inch heels or other "exotic wear"… nope, just bc it isn’t my job choice, i would never think less of a woman no matter what her career choice. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

start slow and be patient with yourself and your body. you didnt’t lose strength / ability over night and it will take time to build it back. for now just have fun with your dancing / pole. make aplaylist of songs that really make you want to move. try to aleast strart w slow ones and just let your body move w no pressure to pull off crazy tricks or perfect turns. when you just let yourself get lost in the music and the felling of your body just moving you will be warming up your body and pole and alot of time i start this way and end up getting really into it and making a vid or just getting a really good practice in. floor/wall/chair work can be incorporated to help build strength and still be building skills for pole/dance. sometimes putting on something that makes me feel sexy (wther a lacy whatever, a bikini, a pretty dress, etc) it can put me in a diffrent mood. experiment w lighting and props.. just ease back into it. nd go with it if you feeling strong. if it’s a so so day just work on walks, turns, floor stuff, poses, etc.. if you end up feeling it, go for it! work on spins, light inverts, holds, combos.. just enjoy what your doing and listen to your body. watch vids to get inspired. every day it gets better so enjoy the journey and keep us posted on your progress! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

oh i so wish there was anything ariel around here. we just finally got a beginner pole class in the area, buit no ariel hoops, silks etc anywhere close. i think it would be awsome to dabble as you say. sounds like so much fun!

when i feel that way i make a playlists of music i am feelin at the moment, put on some clothes that make me feel confident, and just move.. no pressure, no expectations.. if not feeling strong work on floor or wall work, chair dance, just dance. slow, fast whatever.. alot of times once you strat moving a little your mood will follow your body. hope things get better. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

exactly! there are some moves i find less visually appealing than others, but i still want to learn them all! i agree the genie and sideclimb can look awkward, but are still both great things to know. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif i am actually working on diffrent ways to get in and out of the genie. non-polers think it’s a very impressive move, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif plus it certainly works your abs/hamstrings. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif i guess one other is scorpio flatline and apprentice, just not crazy about either. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif i do use them as i do want to be able to do as many moves as possibe ( and not just do them but w best form my body allows https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif ) ..
