I really don’t know, maybe I am afraid I will fall somehow like into my head, or one leg will go beyond the pole and I will be stuck? I really don’t get it, I struggle against the wall too. Just being upside down? I think it’s the feeling of being upside and just thinking, not right, will fall.

lol, your first “rodeo.” I may just start from the day I left off. I mean, I have poled before, I pole with @polefitmom at her studio. I have started and stopped several times, but I have been pretty consistent since January. I can climb, I can do basic spins, I can prace, etc. I know most basic things. I just wanted to build strength with the 30 day take off, now that I have renewed focus and finally feel able to be involved and go for it with poling.

a gemini climb maybe too advance for me, but I could do more side climbs and pole climbs utitlizing my left side

Thank you! I will add it to my warm up. I definitely need to make sure to work that left side. It’s nice to know others have tightness issues in that area.

Added to my faves @blackorchid! And glad to be of help! 8 tracks is nice because no commercials

Thank you so much guys, this is really helping me come up with a strategy. I’m thinking, no adding on until after 30 day take off. Then, adding strength training to the days I pole. Perhaps a routine that involves squats and lunges for legs, etc, and few upper body things, but not as much. Then, using the yoga to enhance flexibility, so really focusing on slow, hip opening classes.

One more question @Veena, not super important, BUT do you like lifting with the rack, like the 45 barbell with weights on each side? or the hand held free weights? or both? Just curious. I do like lifting and have done some in the past, the compound barbell lifts I know more about. Which would you recommend to put with poling? Thanks again.

Thanks Veena! I love having a plan 😊

and I guess I should state exactly what I am doing, I pole mon and weds at studio, and am doing the thirty day take off, with active days lined up on studio days, and rejunivation days lining up on the non-studio pole days. I do yoga twice a week, usually mon and thurs, and try not to do anything tuesdays and fridays. Right now I am doing a workshop that is on Sundays. It is one hour of just choreography. Once that workshop is over, my rest days will be Saturday and Sunday to do nothing. Mon and WEds will pole studio and the active days on thirty day take off. Tuesday and Thursday will be yoga, and Friday will be either an active or rejunivation day on the thirty day take off. Sat and Sun off.

No, I’m not practicing everyday, I usually go to a pole class twice a week, Mon and Weds, and am doing the thirty day take off, but try to line it up so that my pole studio days line up with my veena work days, and then rejuvination days in between. I try not to do anything at all Fridays and Tuesdays. I do go to yoga though, twice a week, on Thursdays and Mondays. My teacher made up this crazy plank series. I decided to not go to yoga this week, because I didn’t want to over work my shoulders. Thursday was a rejunivation day, but I tried to do a little work, because I was feeling ancy without yoga, and I couldn’t do anything. Probably just should have let it alone.

A couple weeks in? Oh man, you are doing fine! I don’t think you need to lose weight either before continuing. You just have to build strength. I’ve been doing Veena’s thirty day take off, along with other body weight exercises on the pole, such as pole holds, knee tucks, fan legs, things where you are just engaging the body, shoulders, arms, etc. I’ve seen a variety of body types in my poling classes and some very heavy girls can invert, and I still can’t, and some skinny minny girls can’t do a knee tuck. It’s more about building the muscle I think. You sound like you are doing great actually. Keep at it! If you like it, then keep going, keep trying!

Oh my lord, the things added to most processed foods is terrible, sugar, salt, and fat. I’m making some changes, but I still slip with things like sirache, ketchup, soy sauce, etc. And chocolate, though I try to buy 86 percent dark to help those cravings. Everything you said makes perfect sense and why I do avoid eating out. My dad has diabetes and loves fast food, and I try to tell him it’s designed to be addictive, and it’s best to just avoid it. I still slip with eating out here and there too, but I am learning to hold myself more accountable. I think trying to reach small goals everyday is a great idea. There’s so much information out there.

I really don’t want to diet either, I just want to make healthier choices as often as possible! lol.
