Thanks @littlemissprees3076! I do eat at home, and cook at home, but I can definitely be more mindful. I love that tip, asking yourself is this something I really want? or, is this just a greedy craving? Thank you for sharing some of your experience with me with Vit D and trying to build better bone density. All great tips. 🙂 I am finally making pole the priority, over my other exercises, like yoga. I love yoga, but there is room for both and I want to really put my effort into pole for awhile, bc I get going then stop. Will. not. do. that. lol. Thank you for all the great tips!

@littlemissprees, I eat yogurt because osteoporosis runs in my family and my mother had it severely. Despite what people say, all her doctors said the best way to build hone density was to eat milk and diary products from the cow or animals, not soy. My mom was also lactose intolerant and over the course of three years, built dairy back into her diet and became tolerant. She started by drinking 3/4 cup lactaid and adding 1/4 cup milk, etc. And, slowly, she was able to drink milk, and eat yogurt and cheese and did gain back bone density with her weekly shot.

So, I don’t do it for nutrition, I’m trying to prevent something that runs in my family. As far as your meals, eating more protein and not carbs helps build muscle. That much I know. It’s basic, but truth, but recently, I’ve “learned” its about macros and eating the right combination of carb, protien, and fat in relation to your body weight. I’m not sure what the best diet plan is, and I’m unsure if I should be so worried about calculating exactly or just try to eat more veggies, fruits, and lean protiens. Fruits are carbs. But healthy carbs. So there’s all that too, what kind of carbs have you been eating?

Rule of thumb is moderation, but I really want to see results in my body. I have been consistent with my power yoga for two years and haven’t seen any changes in my body, which I know isn’t the most important thing, but at the same time, I don’t want to be sabotaging myself with a bad diet…

honestly, I would just buy the package available here. For one hundred dollars you get access to all the lessons, unlimited for a whole year. Plus, you get a forum of supportive ladies who are more than happy to share tips.

I don’t know what your pole availablity is where you are, but if you get slippery, you might think about a powder coated pole as well. I have a black powder coated 45 mm xpole. I still slip on it, but once its warmed up it is better than chrome.

I also concur with going slow. I’ve been going to pole about once or twice a week. It’s extremely important to warm up and warm the pole up. I’ve learned that the hard way. I also really enjoy veena’s thirty day take off. Really watch and listen to all her advice about stretches and little things you can do to improve, like practicing pointing your toes, improving hand strength, how to stretch the forearm muscles. You can do that anytime and her video on how to point toes was super helpful. Those little things will matter in the end.

BE consistent and be happy with where you are. I got caught up in what I saw OTHER people doing and you know what happened? I didn’t make any progress for about a whole year because I could not accept myself. I ended up withdrawing and made no progress. So, my advice would be to look at others and not feel bad or think, oh man I wish I could do that, or I hope I can do that one day! Look at others and think, insipiration. Don’t worry or think about doing what she or he is doing, and if you can do it or not.

Be content with what you can do RIGHT now. Combine that with being consistent, and you will advance. I basically started over this January, and I am taking my own advice and I can’t believe how much farther I have come already. I’m incredibly happy and excited. I never knew the secret was just to be happy with myself as I am. That’s my advice lol.

As for clothes, yoga wear, booty shorts, sports bra and also, whatever makes you feel good and is comfy. I’m getting my first pair of heels soon and I am excited. I’ve heard Pleasers and Elie’s are good? Also, listen to lots of music, finds music that just makes you want to get up and move around.

That’s what I was thinking too. Ease up on the weights. I feel like yoga with body balances will work better in conjunction with pole.

I like indie pop? Idk how to classify lol. I go on spotty and follow The Indie Mix, I like to pole to those songs. Also, Beyoncé. For slower and softer, azure Ray and Bat for Lashes. 🙂

And I guess, I just want to make sure I will be able to go to a studio (like the one where I currently go to uses chrome poles) and be able to execute what I do at home, though the grips are different…make sense?

So, I currently have a chrome xpert pole, 45mm. I love it. But I am slippery everywhere. My hands, legs, thighs, I just slip. Would training on this pole cause me to regress when working on a chrome pole with no powder coating? I would still use my chrome, but I am just so curious and I loooooove the color of this pole. Also bruising. I am one of those people that bruise very easily and badly. Would this pole help or hinder that problem. My lady doctor asked me if I was in an abusive relationship, just to give you an idea of how badly I bruise.
