You are so impressive, I’m only 21 and you have so much more strength, fluidity and grace than I have. You’re living proof that age is but a number. I wish you all the best in the competition.

Hi Julie.
Welcome to SV. You’ll learn loads here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Don’t worry at all about your weight. Pole dancers come in all shapes and sizes. I was worried I was too small to be able to look good poling but I was wrong. There are all sorts of dancers here!
Good luck finding classes! You’ll love it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Thanks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

MemberAugust 2, 2010 at 11:03 am in reply to: Strength and Fitness aside from pole dancingI considering Pilates but my pole teacher is a pilates instructor and she said it sculpts your body and gives you a nice toned, postured look but is not as effective as poling strength wise. Obviously, I get to use my pole rarely so I can”t rely on that for strength and so, I’m here looking for something that will keep me strong on the days/weeks I can’t pole.! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I went to the studio to play and really took my time stretching. I think the cramping is out of my fear (of what youve got me), as more and more comfortable I get with the invert (I will get it in shoes!!!) the less cramping I should get.
Tell me about it! I cannot invert in shoes for the life of me!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I *PROMISE* I will make a first video after I submit my thesis. It’s a good challenge for me to just suck it up and be brave! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

thanks guys https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
ive tried holding the pole and lifting my legs up for 4 days now but i still cant get anywhere without breaking into a sweat.
Don’t worry, that’s completely normal. I was the exact same. But, don’t force any pole climbs or sits yet if you find that difficult, just focus on holding on up high and holding your body weight without climbing up and hurting yourself because you can’t hold it. Don’t worry, it’s normal. I remember practising that hold in class and honestly thinking I was the weakest girl in the world because I just couldn’t do it at all. Now it’s so simple. And I use this memory to help me now even, when I can’t get a new move I always think ”well, I couldn’t do any when I started and now I can do loads!”. Don’t worry, practise makes perfect. As your strength builds you’ll be able to do more. I’m working on this myself at the moment, you’re not alone!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
