I like a bit of both. For learning new things I definitely feel better barefoot. But for pole climbing and spins I like to wear heels. I have a lovely pair of over the knee boots that I thought would be perfect for climbing but I actually have MORE grip with my own skin than with those stupid, slippy things. If I could find a nice pair of knee highs that grip then I’d probably sleep in them! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
If I want to feel good just dancing around the pole I wear heels. I think it makes my posture much better plus, I’m only 4′ 11” so the heels make my legs look a bit longer without making me too tall, as many of the girls in my pole class complained about. When I’m in heels I still look petite so I have no complaints! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

If you are proud of your bruises, you may be a pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_blackeye.gif
If you can’t find shorts that are short enough, you may be a pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
If you hear a song and immediately rate it for pole compatability, you may be a pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
If you have spent any amount of time trying to convince someone that pole dancing is different than stripping, you may be a pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gifI have done ALL of these. I’m in the same situation as you Rhonda. My pole is in a different place altogether which means I get to use it once a week if I’m lucky.
Though, I am trying to find a solution at the minute, I’ll hopefully know by tonight if there’s anyway to have my pole with me. Fingers crossed.
As soon as I get my pole to myself I can get Veena’s lessons!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yeah you’re right amcut, the paranoia is silly, if you put the pole up correctly it doesn’t cause any damage so I don’t understand the hassle with landlords. You reckon it’s easier to just go ahead and put it up and not mention it to the landlord?

The only background I have is in martial arts, I don’t have a gymnastics or dance background.
