Great to see a boob-friendly outfit. So difficult to get a top that you won’t pop out of if you’re anything above a b-cup! You also look beautiful, such great hair and gorgeous eyes. You’ll look like a Goddess at the competitions https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have to say my eyes. Every single day I get compliments on the street from people I don’t even know just for my eyes. They’re very, very blue!

Welcome! I’m in the beginner course too, don’t worry, there are loads of people here with all levels of experience!
Have fun browsing the forums https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hey Audrey
I’m proud of myself to be able to understand your post! wooo I must have listened more in school than I thought. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I suggested using the pole more because you mentioned your apartment being cold. I just thought that maybe the pole needed to be used more or warmed up a bit before you can grip properly. If it’s so, so, so slippy that you can’t use it at all then maybe try the alcohol. I’ve never used it so I’m not sure what you do exactly but I’m sure someone here knows how.
Enjoy the poling https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Hey Audrey,
I was just talking to my pole instructor about the very same thing a few days ago. My own x-pole gets slippy much faster than the poles at my class. I think it’s probably because my pole isn’t ‘broken in’ yet, as in it isn’t used a fraction of the times the poles at my classes are.
I think it gets better the more you use it. My x-pole doesn’t feel as slippy as it did at first but this could be down to me gaining a tiny bit more confidence with it. I just keep a towel beside me and wipe it down everytime it gets too slippy!
Good luck getting used to your new pole. In a few weeks this won’t seem like a big problem anymore https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
HAVE FUN!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif

Do you know that round carry bag you get with it? for the base to fit into? Well, is that supposed to fit the dome too? Because the bag simply isn’t big enough to even try fit the dome in! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Personally, as a beginner I wouldn’t like a bootcamp style approach at all. If I wanted that I’d join boot camp rather than a pole class. It just wouldn’t be my cup of tea at all.
I really like your routine idea though. It’s fun and creative.
I wish you all the best with your new classes! I hope they’re successful for you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have tiny little hands too and my 50mm x pole is fine for me now. It just takes some getting used to, I thought at first that it was too big for me but it’s perfect! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

MemberApril 26, 2010 at 12:04 pm in reply to: Outrage at Cambridge Union offering Pole Fitness ClassesI agree Solya, I think even the fact that intelligence was brought up in her article is quite offensive. Pole dancing is a physical activity, whether somebody does it for fun or fitness or both does not reflect on their intelligence. However, writing an ill-informed article on something you clearly have not researched does. (wink, wink Jessie)
It seems that certain people still haven’t come to terms with the idea that a woman can be both intelligent and beautiful. If you’re smart, should you behave like an Ugly-Betty type book worm? Heaven forbid you should be intelligent and sexy, how intimidating, huh?!
Just like the men who look at you in amazement for pole dancing when you’re not a gorgeous, 6ft, blonde, beauty queen or the ones who constantly talk about stripping when they know you don’t, this article screams insecurity and ignorance. The author does not have a clue and to sink as low as to question the intelligence of women who partake in these fitness classes – well, you couldn’t be blamed for sensing a hint of fear in her words. Similarly to the gentlemen who view pole dancing women as sexually objectified, Jessica Jennings is guilty of doing the same. The very nature of her article is piquing the same ignorant preconceptions that sexy women are sexy for men, not for themselves. What a terrifying concept – getting dressed up, wearing make up and dancing for anybody but yourself? Is this how the author feels? She certainly seems to be suggesting it.
Having read her article, I’m not sure it’s the pole dancing women who appear to be repressed – there is nothing liberating in the idea that you cannot feel beautiful for yourself, Jessica.

You don’t have to be a specific weight for pole dancing. In fact, it’s a great way to actually lose weight and tone up! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Is it wrong that I like my bruises? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif I have a GIANT one just under my knee today from some floor moves in last night’s class. It’s the biggest, ugliest one I’ve gotten yet. I also have another one just below my hip but I must admit to being slightly proud of them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif hehehehe
Likewise for when I’ve pushed myself hard and my muscles are tense the next day, I love it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’m really glad to see this thread. In the first set of classes we did the teacher did loads of spins and stuff but there was no ‘performance’ element to it. So when I seen pole dance videos (in fact, even when I just recently joined here) I’d watch in amazement at them actually performing the moves rather than just showing them. My new class is BRILL though, for every trick or spin she teaches us she teaches us fun, flirty ways to come out of them. Last night’s class was all about finishing moves so for example, when we all did back hooks she got us to get out of them by doing something cute on the floor and finishing the move standing back up with a nice pose. It makes it all more fun too, a class full of women giggling and trying to flaunt it!! Hahahah the classes are great! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

You have a great body, you look so fit and toned. Don’t listen to a word those guys said, y’know yourself they said it all out of insecurity. Some men are intimidated by strong women.
Even now all of my male friends ask me how the ‘stripping’ is going. Even though they know full well that I don’t strip (and so what if I did anyway!!)
P.S – Real women terrify insecure men. Never forget that! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
