I had the same thing happen my first few months into poling. it is actualy muscle pain transfered to the bone, and the cause is split grip. mine was anyway. the muscles and tendons from elbow to wrist aren’tmeant to sport your weight, and we typically don’t think to strengthen forearm muscles before you start using a split or twisted grip. ice rest and compression will help stop the pain, but you should watch veenas lessons on strengthening and stretching the forearm and wrist. I use a stress ball for finger strength, and small weights for the wrist and forearm.. also, during split grip, instead of closing the hand thats low on the pole, point your index finger down along the pole. for some reason that really helps. my arms wd literally be on fire when I left pole class until I watched the lessons and adjusted my grip. I hope this helps you!

congrats! any loss is a great accomplishment! I’m trying hard to drop 20 lbs, and no luck so far. however,I am strong now, and you can see the muscles flex and relax under my padding now, so I am happy with that. congratulations again and happy poling.

I have no choice but to leave the sexy stuff for when they aren’t around. otherwise I hear gagging sounds and once I heard ‘ aww gross mom that image of your rear in the air scorched my retinas’ such sweet kids, lol.
all jokes aside, fun mom, you should do what you feel is appropriate for your family. some people raise their children a bit more sheltered and cut off from the real world. that doesn’t mean you have to follow suit. if your husband is happy with your poling, you and the kids are having fun and staying in shape TOGETHER, then id say you are leaps and bounds ahead of alot of parents.
mind you,I’m a stubborn southern gal that doesn’t give a flip what other people think of my lifestyle or the pole it revolves around 🙂

lmao nymph,I can totally relate. My sister, mom of four, has an xpole in her home as well, and after watching us both huff and puff at an invert, my 15 yr old nephew walked in swung right up, slid down, walked out. darn kids! Ahh to be young and bendable and strong 🙂

I worked on this move at the studio for a few weeks, and was literally pissed at myself for not getting it. I went home and watched veenas lessons and got it. my issue was failure to squeeze once that inside thigh makes pole contact .contracting the abs and squeezing that quad tightens up your tuck, giving your other leg an opportunity to make pole contact without as much slippage. it was also easier for me to do the open leg “v” version first.

I have two daughters, 15,14. I pole in front of them,I teach if they request it, and I tell anyone who asks to try an aerial invert before they assume that pole is strictly sexually oriented. in fact, my oldest is poling to train for high school drill team, where double peroettes (sp) are mandatory. veena is teaching 🙂 first and foremost, I’m singularly raising very grounded honor roll GIRLS. we speak very openly about sexuality and what they feel like is appropriate. I say, pole if YOU feel its ok. screw who doesn’t care for it, leave those ppl out of that part of your world. alot of ppl don’t get it, can’t separate dance from sex, and never will. their prerogative. when your children are older, believe me when I say, they will damn sure let you know if the pole makes them uncomfortable. personally,I dont close myself or my poling off from my girls. instead we use it to stay healthy together, and take advantage of the open dialogue poling and its stigma bring up. just my two lincolns

I have been using veena’s videos for about two months in conjunction with my studio training, my art of pole videos, and my most recent acquisition is the bespun set. when I just can’t get a move in class,I always come home and look through veenas lessons for an alternate way to learn. it works every time. each instructor teaches different moves in different order and in different ways. veena gives clear simple to follow instruction, which is easy for me to get. plus, art of pole doesn’t teach you how to booty pop! veena teaches alot of transition work that I need to move from one move to the next, and I love the variety.

I have a horrific c section scar that runs vertically from pubis to belly button, these will cover perfectly and still leave enough skin to pole…. THANK YOUUUU …
now, if we can locate a site that caters to ibt and big asses, paired, im set!

A side note, for those of you that habitually over pluck, like myself, you can thicken the brows by applying rogain twice daily until they fill in where you want them heavier. Thank goodness for rogain or id be a stencil diva daily!
