i didn't know they might take points off! well it's a local thing, not a big deal. but i don't want ppl to think, "well, the only reason she can do that is cuz she's wearing gloves"… they say the gloves should be snug and u should put mighty grip on your hands to prevent the slipping.

i'm thinking about using tite grip to prevent the sweating and using dry hands on top.

I love watching you on youtube and i love your tricks. The routine was impressive and i liked all your graceful tricks. however, i do agree with what someone said about working on the inverting. it helps a ton. also, i would add more dacey things to transition from trick to trick. another important thing to add was that I didn't care too much for the music. It's not a song that most people would like. it didn't even look like you were too into the song yourself. you have to find a song that moves you and moves the audience as well. also, you should look at the audience every once in a while while you're holding a great trick to get their attention. this will help u engage with the audience more. hold the really impressive tricks a little longer while looking at the audience and stroking your hair or something, like you're accentuating it. i'm not an expert or anything but i watch alot of youtube videos and it's obvious which ones were great performances. hope that helps

remi layback is so painful! i just can't get over the pain on my foot. it's not the same kind of pain from the tender spots on your thighs. it just feels like i'm about to break every bone in my foot and it'll never stop hurting! haha

i hate doing yogini even though i can easily do it because it hurts, but i don't really mind teddy bear.

jade used to hurt and going from jade to scorpio did too, but i think my thigh is over it cuz i've tried it so many times

i don't like the elbow grip air walk/boomerangs or embraces. they really hurt the inside of my elbow

the worst is still the remi though

@Charley: yeah i realized it was you after seeing your recap of the competition. amazing performance by the way. i watched your performance like 10 times and added it to my favorites. i just love your style and flow. it's so effortless and beautiful. i think you should have won! also, your remi drop was awesome! it was such a nice surprise and really caught my attention. thank you so much for posting that tutorial for it.

I tried the cross-foot release in class yesterday and it hurt my feet so bad! i was trying to find different positions for the foot that's on the pole but couldn't find one that didn't hurt. i'll keep trying until i hit my sweet spot though and then i'll start working on the drop. it's such a cool move.

Thank god for this post. I was dying to know how to get into this move after watching the second place winner of the midwest pole competition do it but I didn't even know what it was called. I'm gonna start working on it tomorrow 🙂

If you are talking about the Owings Mills Xpose, I also think she's selling it because she was probably losing money by running it. she's not a very good business woman, although she tries to be. I think that for it to be more successful, there would have to be some changes to the way things are run. PM me for more info if this is the studio you're talking about. It sounds like it because she said the lease would be up around that time

Are you planning on buying the Xpose in Owings Mills? I really hope somebody buys it because it's the Xpose that i go to and i would hate for it to shut down. she said she was selling it cheap cuz she's just trying to get rid of it.

Well, if you just want to pole dance, that's not enough reason to become an exotic dancer but you do sound like you would be doing it for the attention. as an exotic dancer myself, I would say you should try it. You might like it. I never knew I would like it until I did an amateur contest. It was such an adrenaline rush for me. You should look up some local clubs and see when you can come in and audition. some clubs do do just topless and even some just do bikini. I know in New Jersey, some clubs are bikini clubs… but you will still have to do lap dances and everything else that comes with being a dancer, so it's really not much different. To me, I don't really care if i'm fully nude or not and a lot of times, i even forget to take my bottoms off when i'm on stage. some clubs aren't as strict about it but some are. the club i work at is full nude but some girls choose not to take their bottoms off and management doesn't care… but to be honest, it's really not that much different. you're nearly naked already anyway….

however, i will warn you that it's not for everyone so if you ever start feeling down on yourself because of dancing, you should quit right away. some girls turn to drugs or alcohol or bad friendships. I would say you should try to ease into it. start working just one night a week to get a feel for it and then you can start adding on days. it is so hard to get burnt out so be very careful or you'll start to hate it. the worst thing is coming into work on a night when you just don't want to be there because you won't make any money and it'll make you miserable… don't tell yourself that you need the money, just that you want to make more than you have because when you start telling yourself that you need it (even if you really do), you're gonna start to hate the job itself and you may start to try to do things you wouldn't normally do, in hopes of making your quota.

That's a great idea! I have a pole at home, but when i miss my pole classes, i don't pole at all…. i try to motivate myself by making videos but it's so hard to learn new things and stay motivated when you're home alone… especially when you're working on a super-slippery and short chrome x-pole… anyways, i'm an advanced poler and would love to pole jam with someone via skype. my username is gevenny. hopefully i'll catch skittles on skype tonight. i'm a big fan!
