Baking soda and white vinegar eliminate multitudes of stinky laundry sins. Be warned, you will have lots of foam (this is what grade school kids make "volcanoes" from). But wow, the difference in the laundry is totally worth it.

Thank you, pegasusaerialfitness! That's so sweet of you!!!
I definitely agree with the wisdom of recording practice sessions. I grew a LOT as a dancer when I started watching myself dance. I started paying better attention to lines and angles and what showed off my body to its best.

I forced myself to freestyle, and then to freestyle some more, and then to freestyle some more. Then I forced myself to try variations of moves I already knew…. what did it look like if I turned my hand upward? What did it look like if I bent one leg?
Not too long ago I blogged about this

And I'm pretty sure Aerial Amy has as well. 🙂

The glow-y ones on her FB page make my eyes happy. That is all.

I do that a lot and have always thought of it as a CAR variation. I also do it from advanced plank (way harder, IMO…. and ironically not as pretty lol).

Oh good advice! I was thinking of putting the tape on while I'm in my bendiest positions, so that would be its default.
A trial run (or two, or three) is definitely in order.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, ladies! I am going to try a few things tomorrow and see if anything works. I've danced in this getup and have been OK but I don't want to chance it. I don't want my head to be on my nipples instead of my dancing lol.

Yes. Sorry. That's totally what I meant! Long day at work….

I will probably do that…. though the tone of the dance is pretty dark so cheeky cute pasties could be a tough sell. Maybe I need to get angry, bitter, hurt pasties. Ha!

I think of a half jade as one where your outside leg is bent into a sharp stag position and the leg behind you, the inside leg is the only one that's fully extended. Reguires all the same body positioning but you have one leg bent. 🙂

Slippery pole is a phenomenon that normally goes away as pole becomes second nature and your grip is rock solid, plus you no longer have those big awesome adrenaline surges that make you clammy. 🙂 Until then, antipersperant, yoga chalk, tacky gloves…. lots of things will work.

I have mid-sized girls that luckily don't fall out of regular bras, so that's what I wear. Underwire, always. I refuse to be shoehorned into a horrid sports bra. They're constricting and I want to look like I have *two* boobs, thankyouverymuch.
Chemgoddess has posted links before to some very cute sports bras from KMart, of all places, that appear to not have the squishy uniboob look. I need to check those out.
I have issues with shorts rolling down at the waistband. I don't care if they ride up some, but I hate the rolling down. 🙁

Ohhhhh, Charley–do not sell yourself short. You put emotion into every breath you take when you're dancing. It's exposed and a little unnerving and GORGEOUS.

Thanks again, ladies.
Like I said, I work hard for my body. I appreciate it. I like the way it moves. I like that I'm doing things I never thought I'd do. And I am super inspired when I watch videos here.
I agree with everything you're saying–but it's tough when I'm looking for inspiration on new moves or new combos to try, or watching someone's movement, and most of what I see doesn't involve bodies that are like mine. It's like taking a picture of Charlize Theron to the stylist and saying "make me look like that." Not gonna happen. So I watch videos and see things that I want to try…. or see things that make me think "ooooh, I wonder if I could do it *this* way" and I find I have to overcome a lot of psychological crap in order to get at all comfortable with how *I* look doing them, in my own style.
This is a warm and welcoming place, and I know that's the case. Where else am I going to bring up this subject and know that thousands of dancers will "get" it??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif
