you can go into jade or or if high enough on pole pull yourself up into pole seat and go into bow n arrow, or CKR?CAR, or wrist seat

Haha, jade assumes I can get even remotely close to the splits. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I’m trying!!

Is the Dizzy Lizzy the side spin? The problem I see with most people on this is that they try to lead with the head, which effectively kills any and all momentum, which I think is how you end up banging knees and such against the pole. If you lead with your hips, then swing your head down and dive into it, you will have crazy momentum and your position kinda takes care of itself, at least IME. This is one of my favorite spins but it wasn’t until I learned to lead hips first, then dive, that it ever really spun and/or I stopped whacking things against the pole when I went sideways.

The VS sport yoga shorts have amazing crotch coverage. Best money I’ve spent for pole goodies. And, now that I am getting a butt (thanks, squats and lunges!!), they actually look pretty good on me!

Awwww, PoleDanceRomance, don’t be sad. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif The move I started this topic with is a move everyone else in the world seems to love. And one of the moves a lot who’ve posted don’t seem to like (caterpillar) is one that I think is beautiful and hawttttt. It’s 100% subjective! Believe you me, I’ll still be busting out the caterpillar. If people avoid my videos because of that, then they’ll just be missing out on the beautiful whatever else I have in there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

"Pole tricks are kinda like boobs. Some like big ones, some like small ones, some like interestingly shaped ones, some like average ones, but in the end of the day, they’re all boobs and they are all good." = freaking INSPIRATIONAL. That should be on a shirt somewhere.

SissyBuns, lol. Don’t you ever worry about doing a chopper on my account. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Maybe you will help me learn to love how it looks! Just as I will continue to caterpillar. I think it’s a cool and pretty move, and I will think that even more so when I can get a reallllllly good arched back and roll it better. To each her/his own, eh? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif That’s the whole point!

Girl I am so proud of you for keeping on even after the heckling! You go girl!

Ohhhh, heckling just brings out my contrary side. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
I could have been exhausted and drenched in sweat, and I would have stayed on that pole BECAUSE of the heckling.

I agree with Polegirl, it does seem like there have been a lot of instances where pole dancing as the sensual type is being frowned upon. I think that pole dancing like other forms of dance can be sensual with being overtly sexual and offensive. I think most people choose to see pole dancing as "something sex workers do and sex workers are bad, desperate, sinful women." I think this permeates the Christian culture which makes good, upstanding, non judgemental Christians take on the stance that "Well, if that is what you do, it is okay for you to do it, but not me. It’s mimicking something that is bad and wrong. But don’t worry I still love you, God commands it!"

I am a Christian and I think the biggest problem affecting Christian women is not "should we pole dance? Is wrong to pole dance?" But how we REPRESENT POLE DANCING. Are we sexy pole dancers wearing mini shorts and 9” shoes? That image creates the above paragraphs idea of what pole dancing is and is considered to be overtly sexual and wrong.

So does this mean that Christian woman can only pole dance barefoot or in ballet shoes? Should we never post videos of sensual (not sexual) dancing for other women to enjoy (in a heterosexual nature.)

This is a complex issue for me because I am tired of apologizing for being sexy. I’m tired of feeling like it’s wrong to want to be attractive or to feel attractive. I’m tired of feeling like my hips and breasts are things to hide.
If you are interested there is a facebook group for Christian Pole Dancers.

I heart you. I was born and raised Catholic, though I no longer subscribe to any church and don’t consider myself to be a Christian….anyway, what I wanted to say is that, in my views, the ultimates in Christianity of any sort are tolerance and grace, and your post just oozes them. You’re a class act, Charley. And you’re sexy, and you shouldn’t feel a need to apologize for that.

I don’t have a problem with Christians pole dancing. I don’t have a problem with people pole dancing for fitness. I don’t have a problem with anyone pole dancing, at all. But I get the distinct impression that those who aren’t into "sexy" pole dancing have a big problem with those who are into it. I am not trying to be contrary, but I really do want to know why. Pole dancing, unless you’re talking Chinese/acrobatic pole/whatever originated in strip clubs. "Mainstream society" has kinda appropriated it, and, in the process, we’ve learned that it’s a GREAT way to get into shape. But does it really, *really* matter how/why we pole dance? Really? Why does anyone need to defend what they do, or how they do it?

FWIW, I come down firmly in the "I want it to be sexy" camp, and I feel like lately all I’m doing is defending that.

Victoria’s Secret Sport yoga shorts. A-maz-ing. They have a super wide waistband that simply does not roll and won’t muffin top on you either, in my experience. The legs are super short and have awesome 100% crotch coverage. On, and the hem seam leaves NO, absolutely NO, sausage leg. The back of the bottom of the leg sits right at the bottom of the butt cheek but even in a complete foldover bend, no booty hangs out. Soft, no camel toe, no wedgies, ever. I have tried just about every short short out there, and these are my favs by far.

Journey, I think the spaatchcock is creepy.

I use side climb a lot, even though I don’t think it’s pretty at ALL. I work on making it as pretty as it can be, but I think it can only look so good, eh? Funny thing is, most of my non-pole-dancer friends think the side climb is the bee’s knees. They are always asking me to do it. Oh, the variations in personal taste!

This thread has been really interesting, and I thank those who have chimed in thus far for their opinions.

Fleur, I can see why that video blew your mind. She moves like something otherworldly….and I mean that in a very, very good way.

Well, I have found that I prefer the piked hip hold to the others, so it’s a good thing all of your ideas come from a pike! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I just thought of another one I’m not so nuts for. The genie. I think it has an "I’m sitting on the toilet" look about it.

Amcut, I’m having trouble picturing the pike to superman bit….and I have a feeling that what I know as pike (which is the piked hip hold) isn’t what you’re saying. Help?

Right now the thought of trying to do a drop into this move makes me squinch up in abject terror. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif BUT….I do love drops, so maybe, just maybe!!
