Hi there Charley,
I am a labour & delivery nurse and so I scrub in and assist with c-sections and am a pole dancer too. Since I am intimately familiar with what all gets done in a c-section, I would say if it was me, I would stay off the pole for at least 12 weeks. Let yourself be good and healed before starting again, the last thing you want is to pull something and create a complication that will require additional healing time.Hope this is helpful. Congrats on the new bundle!

I am a full-time nursing student. I had to stop teaching for a bit the last few months as I am wrapping up my studies and it's been pretty intense and hasn't allowed much time for anything else. Unfortunately now I am really out of shape and don't even pole much for myself https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif. Kind of makes me sad. I want to get back at it and get back in shape before I go back to teaching again.
When I was teaching, I had a tough time keeping up with my own pole progress. I taught a lot of beginning classes and some early intermediate stuff and was teaching usually 3-4 days a week. Combined with the committments to my schooling, I wasn't getting myself much further along on the pole. I am now debating if I should take some time to just work on my own pole work, or, if I should go back and teach too. Luckily there are now a few more people who are qualified to teach at the studio I am affiliated with, so I don't feel so much like I am desparately needed there- that had been a problem prior. It's nice to be needed, but I am not in a position to do this as my sole form of income.

Well said robyness.
I am just so excited that Canadian events are starting to crop up, and I am excited to see all the variety in types of events. There needs to be something for everyone, and everyone has different tastes or needs in a competition or showcase. I for one, work in a profession by day and am excited that some of the newer competitions are trying to put forth a clean image for pole dancing. Not to say that there shouldn't be competitions that bring out the more 'exotic' flavours of pole dancing, just saying that I want to compete, but because of my professional obligations, I have to be careful about where I do so, and I am glad that there are competitions that are in-line with my needs. I am also glad for the variety, because even if I don't see myself competing in a certain contest or show case, I am more than happy to watch or support every event, whether in person or in spirit.
It makes me sad that there seems to be so much politics in pole. I was drawn to this sport because of the togetherness and the way that women (and men now too) of all walks of life can pull together and support eachother. I find it really sad that what I feel the spirit of pole is, is being challenged by some members on a forum that is supposed to unite people who are supposed to share the love of pole.

Just heard word,
MPD Alberta is NOT exclussive to Alberta residents, any Canadian resident is welcome to submit an entry.
Just wanted to share that.
I also agree there should be more competitions or even just showcases all over the country. I know it would motivate me to work harder. I am hoping to enter MPDA next year, this year it was too short a notice, but I am excited people are starting to seriously talk about more stuff to go on in Canada, it's about time!

That is the web-page for the contest. I am not sure if it is strictly Albertans only, but I do know that the winner is actually expected to take on the title as somewhat of a job and there are obligations that you would be committed to fullfilling.
I am pretty sure there is a PFIC organization in Ontario, and I know this contest is meant as somwhat of a regional qualifier into MPDC. I would be surprised if the Ontario PFIC chapter wasn't trying to get their own competition together.

Miss Pole Dance Alberta is being held in August in Calgary. Probably several other provinces will follow suit with their regionals in the next while too.
