I'm really sorry to hear what happened to you. As most posters have said – this rude angry womans attitude was nothing to do with you and everything to do with herself. Someone that would go so far as posting such nasty comments could very well be jealous of you – have you thought of that? I actually pity people like that as they need to tear down others to feel better about themselves. Please please please don't let her comments affect you. The worst thing you can do is let her comments affect you. You are a wonderful vibrant "polite" unique woman. Celebrate your uniqueness – there is only one of you and there will never be another! You can see by the comments everyone has left that this person was indeed very wrong and I hope you have blocked, deleted and will ignore them. Congratulations on your engagement!!!

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I plan to go for chrome as I am hypersensitive to smells and therefore don’t think I would enjoy the brass. (Plus I am too lazy to keep polishing it :-)).

I bought the Omni Gym in deep blue and am happy with it. I particularly like the three springs. You can purchase these separately if you have another swing, but I think they are indispensable and really ensure comfort when using the swing.

Powder coated is the only pole I know and therefore love. Am trying to decide between chrome and brass and was worried about brass smelling and chome not sticking. I think I’m tending to lean towards chrome as I dislike the smell of brass. I wondered if the smell was noticeable and after reading this thread, it seems that for some people it is. I am hypersensitive to smells, so I am sure now that it will bother me.

Hi, thanks for your answers Ariel Gypsy, Lyme Lyte and Juicy J. I thought I had made my mind up, but now I am not so sure. Lyme Lite, what do you use to polish your pole with. I’m also glad you mentioned the metallic smell, because I have always noticed it on brass figurines. I guess it is a small price to pay for pole dancing 🙂

Thanks so much for your tips Saphyre. I think I might do better on chrome then as my body is dry but my hands get sweaty – especially when I am trying a new trick. 🙂 I live in Melbourne which is has a very cool climate. I am still very curious if the brass poles "smell" – I have never even read a hint from anyone stating that they do……
