I saw Sheila Kelley’s TED talk and it definitely pushed me the last few inches I needed to take my first pole class. And I haven’t looked back. 🙂

Gooey is awesome! The whole Glass Animals album is pretty much pole appropriate. LOL

Phoenix Hunter, I apologize. I misspoke. I’ve watched both tutorials several times. They’re my two favorites, actually. I meant to say ‘supposed to be rolling over my shoulder, not my neck.’ I was typing and revising too fast. I just get nervous about making sure my head is turned properly so my shoulder takes the weight. Practice is taking care of that, though. Sorry about the confusion.

I’m currently working on it, too. It makes be nervous because I know I’m supposed to be rolling over my neck. Also, coordinating your legs so that it looks good and not just like an awkward backwards roll can be tricky. Working on it a bit on carpet has really helped decrease my anxiety (I guess because of the extra padding) so I think it’s starting to come together. Good luck!

A random five: 1. P*ssy Liquor – Rob Zombie, 2. Tessalte – Alt-J, 3. Two Against One – Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi ft. Jack White, 4. Take Me to Church – Hozier and 5. Turn Blue – The Black Keys.

I’m starting to compile a list of pole songs over on milq.com. Videos go with the post, so I’m starting to add songs with great routines behind them as well as music videos. Check it out if you want and contribute your own faves. http://milq.com/bead/songs-for-working-the-pole
