Thank you for the info – sensualscimitar and chemgoddess1. I'm looking into the cost of replacement .. for now, the pole is useless because the seam where the peels came off is fairly sharp, my hubby cut his hand while running his hand through the pole. 🙁
Did X pole ever recall their product to replace the crappy finsished pole?

I had the same problem – stuck and bent the releasing tools while trying to un-stuck it. After many tries with the tools, me and my hubby tried this – we were wearing rubber gloves (dish washing gloves) and twisted the opposite way holding each section and finally got it unstuck. Good luck!
