Thank you for the response.
There are hundreds of schools who use similar names and that is what I meant by following standards. The question should have been asked better…sorry.
Are the names similar or the same as to what is currently known on wiki or any of the other pole move sites?
Or, are you making up your own names for moves?webmaster… there are many things I cannot do on this site…I am unable to send pms to people, unable to view profiles of people in my country, I was not able to enter chat yesterday or this morning! There has only been 1 time I was able to enter chat since I have registered here. Several occasions I have not been able to post on threads. Times when postings are made and then gone when I try to edit or add to it.
I keep getting the page that tells me my membership (non member) does not allow me to ___________.
….and yes I was signed in!thought you might like to know! sorry to hijack the thread.

thats great news….
where are they located…I dont seem to be allowed to do many things on this site.
are the names ones known…or did you make your own?
I would love to find a list that is an international standard..with the name of moves not people who did them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gifMany of the names you use here are greek to me, and have never been heard of in the studio I go to.
Most of the places I mentioned above, use a standard for names..and most of them are the same…will you be following a standard?

I dont think it should make it.
I have been reading alot on this subject…and each side has its value.
I personally do not want it to happen. Leave pole be. Let it be a dance….a dance that is ACCEPTED for what it is first, instead of trying to change it to legitimize it.
People where I am still look at me like I have a disease when I say I pole dance…I live just outside of the 3rd largest city in Canada…and they still react that way.
Would ber nice to see pole dance gain recognition, and be accepted…but is this really the way to go about it?
If anything…this will present more problems and damage to the work that the founders of "public" pole have worked so hard for! And yes…there are founders!

That is one of Jenyne’s signature moves!! nice! I watch that move again and again to see what I can drop it to!

Foot/toe cramps can also be caused by how you are holding your point/flex.
directing the position by your heel not the top of the foot.
so when pointing your foot in a hooked or pinched position will cause a nerve and muscle cramp.
I was shown a neat trick to stop the cramps in my foot on the leg holds from my old instructor.
instead of pointing your toes by pushing the toes down…lift the heel up. prime mover change. this allows a different group to control the action.
pushing the toe causes the back of the calf to be used.. Pulling the heel allows the front flexor to work instead.
another point….calf compression against pole can cause cramping as well…when in any lower leg contact with the pole..be sure to position it ABOVE or BELOW the calf ball…direct force compression of that muscle on moves will cause compression seperation..and can lead to permanent damage. one of the girls who used to teach at my old studio is now unable to perform ANY calf hold with her right leg due to improper teaching of the outside leg hang and butterfly mount. She has permanent seperation in her right calf due to banging it on the pole during her learning. She had no prior injury.

I can do the Sitting Doom and the Straight Doom..
The only other dancer I have ever seen do this is Alena Downs…she has the sitting doom in one of her videos…but I was actually able to catch her doing the Straight Doom on a 22′ pole! It WAS SOOOO COOL!! She just let go of her ankles and dropped like a rocket!! She stopped inches away from the floor! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Saks4JkZXZ8 2:40 ish she does the sitting doom as a slide.

There are 7 fairly easy ways to get into the superman.
1. Apprentice Thread…like mentioned above. Make sure Top hand is bent to allow threading of the knee through the arm…point toe or it gets stuck.
2. Gemini Tuck…everyone knows this one by the sounds of it
3. Split Grip Flip..This one is the easiest to get once you understand holding and moving a cradle.
4. Starfish Slide..basically an open gemini tuck..scissor legs closed as you turn your body.
5. Handstand Slide…the beginner way..handstand facing the pole (come out of BI or Inverted crucifix)
6. Shouldermounted Superman..more advanced
7. Spinning Superman….the swing..step into position and swing the superman.Learning all the of the body position changes is best on the floor…dont be stupid and follow some videos that tell you to learn standing up…break your neck like one girl here did following online videos.
I saw a pic of Alena in the apprentice…she has some great sequences for superman combinations!

There is also the Doom Drop…Cross Ankle Release to dead stop at floor.

Isnt the apprentice grip the same as the "respect grip" I remember seeing a bunch of shouldermount grips on wikipole. the bottom one you call funky is the chinese grip used in circ.
