Anything by Emiliana Torrini makes me feel soo good. I’ve also been listening to System of a Down’s Mezmorize album. I LOVE it. Jeff Buckley, Maxwell and Fiona Apple also make me feel super sexy

Im a massage therapist and while I love working with chiros, I feel some give their patients the idea that they don’t need massage. Muscles move bones. If the chiros are realigning you without having you go to an MT before or after treatment, your tight muscles will undo their work. It’s a money machine! I like to recommend using both chiros and mts because they compliment each other so well. 🙂

My first solid split!: https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/4ea5a5db-f864-4ea0-a7f4-43a30ac37250

The first time I got my splits was last year. I stretched using the “splits in 6” program: http://www.unique-bodyweight-exercises.com/splits.html
I had only been stretching for splits for about 3 weeks. However, I’ve been doing yoga for several years and I know the importance of warming up before deep stretching. Even though it only took me about 3 weeks, I never over stretched or felt great pain. It was a “good pain”. The kind you get when you’re in a really nice stretch. 🙂 -
Make sure you are really warm. I have the same pole and it’s really important to warm up for a good 15-20 mins. I just dance around in sweats to a few songs and do elbowstands to get my core temp up. Don’t be discouraged! If you get you and your pole super warm you’ll have great grip in no time! I would try the warm up without grip aid first to see if it works. And I mean REALLY warmed up!

I have my boyfriend work my leg from the knee down. A lot of times people with hammertoes have very tight muscles in the lateral compartment (outside leg in pole lingo) work from the kneecap downward and the tops of your feetsies. If you see any improvement let me know. Otherwise just love your feet 🙂

Hello! Dancer’s feet here, too! I’ve learned to love my feet. I have a couple of hammer toes on my left foot and crazy calluses on both feet. My cousin was a ballerina for years and envied my feet as the natural insanely high arches are desired for ballet. So I learned to embrace them 🙂 I have very ticklish feet and don’t care for foot massages so I use a roller on them. Hammertoes can be cured by massage if you can straighten them against the floor without manually manipulating them. If the muscles have been so tight for years that the bones curve then surgical correction is needed. My left oes have straightened out considerably since I started working on them. Google massage for hammertoes and you can work on them yourself! Learn to love them though. They are cute!

I get a brazillian every 4 weeks. I tried to use the Gigi at home kit which ended with me laying on the bathroom floor with dried wax all over my business and my boyfriend had to come in with a low dryer and rip it from me. It was an awful attempt to save money. If you are experienced with waxing yourself, go for it! But I get mine done professionally. As for the bumps it sounds like ingrownhairs for sure. My gal tells me to exfoliate and moisturize moisturize moisturize (especially 3 days before waxing) to prevent ingrown hairs. Let is know if that product works!

Oops! Wrist and shoulders*

Work on strengthening your wristband shoulders. Veena has some lessons that are very effective! While warming up I like to use sweat bands to help warm the joint so come practice time I’m strong, warm and ready to spin!

I’m in! Lost my right split so this will push me into gear! Great idea!!

I found that when I’m not properly warmed up teamed with not fully engaging the abs and shoulders I get a dull pain in my mid/lower back during basic invert and the chopper. I concentrate on breathing and engaging those muscles on the exhale. It’s working for me! Good luck 🙂
