Bonnie: when you side you hand down you still would have to switch the legs to the other side. because in plank your knees are facing up, in caterpillar and ayesha they would be facing down. That means when twisting into and ayesha you should get your legs of the pole before you can even twist. Just trying to imagine here how to do that without falling down. Do you have a video with that transition?

@Bonnie: How do you go into an ayesha from advanced plank. wouldn you have to turn your whole body to get it in the correct position?

For me my other exsercizes are my job. Next to our own business, I only teach and work during the day and only one evening. My pole time is in the evening after dinner. Even if I don’t have much time I try to do at least some strength exsercizes. Like crunches, scissor climb, Gemini climb, knee tucks etc.

I agree that a lot has to do with diet. But that’s not the case for everyone. During my chemo I gained a lot of weight. After being declared healthy I started teaching cardio classes again. Between November 2010 and December 2012 I had lost about 15 lbs. I was teaching 12 classes a week some weeks, but didn’t do strength or resistance. That had to change. At the beginning if 2013 I started teaching resistance training 3 times a week and a little less cardio. Few months later I found pole. I lost 30 lbs in 6 months. With also changing my diet. So for me diet was important. On top of that I am in hormone treatment. Side effect weight gain. I have hypothyroidism. Makes it harder to loose weight, but not impossible. And I have kept it of. And being a healthy weight has stabilized my thyroid hormones.

Dance wear solution update. After trying to order online and they trying to charge me $40 for shipping, I emailed them. They emailed back instructing to call because over the phone they could give cheaper shipping then was available online. I ordered past week and paid $8 and some change.
So a little advice. They have limited shipping options online and you might pay less by calling your order in. -
I fall out of an advanced plank and hurt my sacrum. After that I got also scared of a CAR as well. CKR I could still do. I started out with practicing my car again close enough to the floor so I would end in a handstand. Lot if grip aid on my legs so I would stick and a spotter who would support me in the beginning until I started to feel comfortable. Then just standing there for my own peace of mind. Now I do the CAR with no problems. Still not just hanging back. I put a hand under me while going back wards.
Then I started the advanced plank again. With someone holding me. The problem for me was getting out. I thought I gripped the pole but I slipped with my hand getting up. So that’s what I focused on. It is still a little scary but getting better.
Point being that for me a spotter really helped me get more comfortable with those moves again. -
@ive8899 I guess its my punishment for living in hawaii. I ended up buying something from discount dance supply they ship to me for $2.95 🙂

8’9″. and its connected to the support beam on my faulted ceiling. So I have some more space for a straight edge next to the pole. I would love to have a taller one, but for Hawaii they won’t ship anything over 10″

my hips and boobs (with prostheses) are the same and my waist is 8″ smaller. I have a hard time finding tops. I always need to wear a sports bra underneath to hold my prostheses. I have seen all kinds of cute tops but all to low and it would show my bra.
At home I just wear a sports top with no bra. -
For the longest time mine was v invert, reversed Ayesha. Gemini to Scorpio leg switch into Scorpio handstand.
