my body has changed a lot as well. My muscles are more defined. I am a fitness instructor and was in pretty ok shape. Since pole I am in excellent shape. Ok my tummy needs a little more work.
A lot of people have complimented me on how I look and asked how I did it and that they want to look like me and get the results I have. When I tell them that I pole for some reason no one seems very interested in trying 😉 They think its cool that I do it, but every one is to afraid to try.
But I love it and never want to go back.

I learned from my doctor and my yoga instructor that it’s not just the back. Tight hamstrings and quads can give back pain as wel. Also a strong core is important. It’s important to stretch those as wel besides the back.

Through Zumba I got K&K insurance. Then I added a beginner pole class and thats covered as well as long as we don’t use any props like heels or feathers etc. I had emailed them about it and the next day they answered back. They have very good costumer service.

I am a 3.5 years breast cancer survivor. Now I am also a volunteer for ASC.
When I got diagnosed, I was stage II. I went for a lumpectomy. The week after I got a call from the surgeon that they had found 3 more tumors that hadnt shown up on the mammogram. I had the choice of doing an other lumpectomy or a mastectomy. I went for the mastectomy, just to increase my changes. These choices are very personal. I never went for reconstruction and I am very comfy with the way I look. On the beach or at the pool I am lump sided because I dont want to wear a prostheses. Now that I have my own pole at home I can just wear a sports top and am flat chested on one side as well.
I can tell you, there is life after cancer and it can be very beautiful. before cancer I had a job I didn’t like and I was a fitness instructor on the side. Now I am only a fitness instructor, because it gives me joy and pleasure and I get to help other people reach their goals. I don’t make as much anymore, but my happiness and health are far more important now then a bigger paycheck.
You can always sent me a private msg if you have any questions or concerns.
If there is an ACS in your neighborhood, they have an awesome program called “reach to recovery”. They pair you up with a volunteer who went trough breast cancer as well. Mostly similar to your age etc. And they can give a lot of info as well.
Most important is keep on smiling, fighting and enjoy every single moment that you can.

cool. I just found instructions online how to make them. Going to try it out. I have a bad left wrist and the powerball has been helping, but can use some extra support until its strong enough.

yeah the ceiling is over 9 feet. I can see your problem. 2.30 meter is not much to work with.

Where I take classes they have faulted ceilings and it works just fine. You just need a mount for faulted ceiling to attach your pole.

we all fall down once. I fall down two weeks ago out of an advanced plank. I am a few years older then you and have been poling for 4 months now. I have dance experience, but that doesn't make a difference with doing the tricks. except I automatically point my toes.

Did you try letting go of one hand and still hold on with your strong arm. And if your low enough to the floor, let go of your weaker hand and put it on the floor, when you feel stable, let go of the other and put it on the floor and maybe have the instructor stand next to you to spot you.

I have baby belly fat. And in certain tricks it looks like my flab is trying to rap itself around the pole. So when I take pictures I always do it from an angle that you won’t see it or as much. It takes a lot of try’s to find my good side. 🙂
When I am poling I don’t really card it’s just when I video or take pics

I think my next step is working on aysha's. I do the reverse aysha, now the rest of them. 🙂 One step at the time. oh and shoulder mount.
