Its scary but I think we all want to tell because we all love it so.  My Mom cane to see me a few months ago and I was still recovering from a broken hip (not from the pole) and I decide to make her a video of the the videos I posted on SV that I was most proud of it. I had already told her about the pole in the living room because I didn't want to take it down but I thought the video would help her see how much happiness it brings me. Due to disablities I have I spend a lot of time at home alone and I knew she worried about me and I thought she would feel better knowing about my poling if she accepted it.

Well she kept saying oh look at that and look at that..how did you learn this…lol  When she ot through watching it she asked if I could make her dvd to take home. I declined because there was a reason she wanted it ..to show it off because she was proud of me. I knew though that others might not be so understanding if she popped in the DVD player for entertainment LOL.  My sister on the other hand may have a clue because I post lots of stuff about poling on my page not just about me poling but I'm going to hold off on that for a while. All 3 of my daughters came over a few weeks ago and I talked even the one who is really uncomfortable with it to try it out…of course we had to fight the grandkids for turns because they are way better than any of us.  They will either accept it or they won't but when you love something so much it is hard to hide it because you want to share it. Its a great thing when it works out weel like me.

@Saphyre isn't it funny how when you're a kid it is a perfectly natural thing but later it's not.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

well i got it to practice hard moves on becaue it was static but trust me I will be careful because I am not about to mess upp and have to wait almost a year again… besides btween the pole and the metal in my hip and leg I can't have more more metal to deal with…lol   But I will probably never be able to invert anyway because of my hands so I at least don't have to worry about that and I have learned not to jump on the pole which is how I originally thought you guys got on there….lol So I will see how it feels. Thing is I won't sell it or give it away because I don't want anyone else to get hurt either.

@JhennaD….apparently there are more and more of us NaNa pole dancers!!! LOL  and my hubby is looking to buy a bigger boat. He showed me some pics of this fabulous boat you could sleep on , he asked me if I would sleep on it?  I said well can you have a pole installed…he just looked at me like really????? I was like yeah, really!!!  lol Yeah and I posted all kind of video of polers on fb during the olympics becaue I really think that polers should be there…the fabulous polers ARE athletes and please someone said well but they don't wear much clothes…and I was like and the runners and other people did?

Yep you may a poler if you have touched that first pole and went wheeeew was that a shiver I just felt…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Btw when you go to put it up…and try to get it straight use your eyes to line it up with something straight like the frame of a door, a big piece of furniture or if you have paned windows use that as a guide.  Oh I meant to tell everyone…I spent hours the last two times still trying to get it straight then it hit me I have a CROOKED wall in my house so had I realized that sooner it would have been much easier. Damned crooked wall…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif  also if you have problems there are so many people here to help you. Welcome to flying or that's what my lil Noah calls it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

ok, so I'll make a confession years ago someone very close to started dancing at a club…yes, the waitress first then the dancing I was mortified!  Had no understanding of it and never connected it all to my own love of hitting the night clubs and dancing and grinding and whirling. I can't say I came to accept it at that time because it was many, many years ago when it was just not a thing you did. Now I feel bad for that.

Then a couple of years ago I stumbled across Venna's videos on Youtube looking for a way to try and find a way to build up my body because I am so small. I saw Veena and flipped… for weeks all I could do was watch one after another then I joined the Free Studio Veena online..starting reading the stories and then when I realized you could actually take classes at health clubs I was elated but I live in a very small town so the closest thing I could find was bellydancing. I signed up and they canceled the class because there wasn't enough participation.  So when I realized you could actually buy your own pole I was like WHAT!!! a pole in your house. well I put a Venna membership on my hubby's credit card and my journey began. He thought I was completely insane …well until he saw my first dance. It wasn't great but it was unexpected. lol

After that I found I also loved "THOSE" shoes and had to have some…now I have a closet full. lol  Ten I got a few little yoga/dance shorts/crop tops…followed by gloves and leg protectors..followed by some sexy little outfits but I realized I was addicted long before that.

So quickly approaching 57 years old and my pole stands in my living room and sometimes I hate to fight for time with it because my 6 year old autistic grandson who is with us a lot has taken to it as well and really it has almost been therapy for him. So I guess Veena and Youtube…then everyone here who have been amazing and last but not least tht instant feeling of impowerment, fun and pull to the pole that makes me know when I do have to give it up ine day I will never ever be sorry I tried it. And I have since told that person I loved so much that I have an understanding now of how she was able to be a dancer in a club. Because back then when she went to work she loved the pole and they didn't have poles in your house back then. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif and that is my story…along with the wish I was much healthier and younger so I could do it for many more years.

I just took a spin on it and I was hopelessly in love https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I bought a Carmen Electra pole too…I haven't put it up yet I wanted it as a second pole since my beginner pole was a spinny. And you are a tiny thing that's kinda scares me about the CE pole. I got it also because my spinny is a 45mm and I am so skinny its hard for me to get a good grip to climb ect and was hoping a little bigger diamenter would help.

I think I saw some shorts on Mika that had sparkles on them that were not flashy like the sexy clothes you find I thought they were nice because they didn't look overly sexy but had a little sparkle to them.

ok, so I had to see THE pic…you look amazing!!!!! PERIOD!!!  If I looked like that my hubby would have a hard time convincing me not to give him one for his desk of course I ralize it would be at his job so he couldn't or everyone in the office would be poling or their wives poling in the closet God forbid…hehehe..
but for real…you are dressed..and good lord I bet everyday I wish I had a shape like yours instead of mine…Since I started poling and got the concept of more skin and got some freakin self-confidence I find myself looking at polers and thinking if everybody knew what I know about it they would all be doing it. Besides I haave seen some FB bikini photos of women my age that made ME blush and good lord they did not look defined and toned and healthy like you.. I think it sterotyping and pure jealousy.  If I ever get a shape like that my hubby is going to have to tell me to put some clothes on it!
