Hi Veena, I absolutely love pole. I adore it. I feel like I can’t live without it. However, I have some existing issues such as functional scoliosis from a leg length discrepancy, tendinitis, and now this weird shoulder pain which went away with rest. I haven’t really done enough strengthening and conditioning off the pole – normally I swim, do yoga/stretching, walking etc. I rest every other day, if not I do light dancing, I sleep enough, I have to admit I can get lazy when it comes to keeping up with meals though. I’ve never really counted how many times I try a move, I usually just stop when tired, but I will pay attention to that now.I guess I am just concerned and fearful that all these issues could get worse and want to prevent that happening. But thanks for your advice, I will definitely be more intentional in my practice

I have a small lunette. It is my first cup and while I love the idea of a cup the lunette just drives me crazy at times. Firstly, the 2 heaviest days on my period only give me about 2 1/2 hours between emptying. I constantly have to be watching my clock and worrying about it overflowing. Secondly, it is perfect when it is inserted correctly however when it is not, it is maddening! I don’t like that it isn’t reliable. Sometimes it goes in right other times it does not. And then you have to make trips back to the bathroom to reinsert which can draw attention at work. I wish there were a fool proof way to get it to work correctly all the time. Even though I have problems with my cup, I still use it every month, and I can’t stand the idea of pads or tampons anymore.
Poling with it inserted feels weird. I don’t think the small lunette is the best for me. I can feel that it is there and I think that’s a part of the problem in terms of poling. When I went to the beach with it in I could also feel like pressure, it was uncomfortable.
Maybe I need a firmer cup to prevent the frequent leaks, but at the same time if I can feel the small lunette and its soft, I don’t know how I will feel with a firmer one.
I’m thinking of trying the lady cup. Still looking for one that works perfectly for me.
However I love the fact that I don’t really need to buy so many pads and tampons anymore. (I keep pads for the moments when I just get so frustrated with my cup that I’d shoot it if I had a gun lol) Using cups is better for the environment and your pocket too.

I have given myself a Brazilian wax using sugar wax. I usually get my boyfriend to help me so it takes less time. You can make your own wax with a mixture of sugar, vinegar, and water. It’s really cool you should check it out on YouTube. I’ve also done my arm pits and legs successfully with this wax but the legs are very time consuming. I plan to do my eyebrows too but I’m afraid to do so since I have no experience with waxing eyebrows and have stuck to tweezing them myself just to be on the safe side

My favourite are figure skating, gymnastics, diving and synchronized swimming. I’ve always wanted to learn to do all of those, I love the grace strength flexibility accuracy and beauty of those sports.

@StudioVeena, my friend just recently found out that she is in the same situation, and I had just started teaching her pole dancing. The link you provided does not work for me. It just comes up blank. Could you repost it or look into that please?

@sensualscimitar by my legs not being straight i mean that I have bow legs, one is a bit more curved than the other. I do straighten my knees right out when doing the stretch. I was trying to upload a pic of it but I can't figure out how to do that on here.
I saw veena's split routines once but I don't remember them 🙁 I do intend to do a year subscription but I have some expenses to take care of so I've got to wait a while. 🙁
All this stuff about 'turning out' and PNF stretching etc. I have a lot of reading to do! Never done ballet or any formal dance classes before pole dancing.
Going to check youtube now. -
I don’t have a foam roller… 🙁 I usually feel it stretching for the middle splits. I usually lie flat on my back with my legs open, and up against the wall.
I’m not aware that I have any knee problems, the only thing is my legs aren’t straight, and they aren’t symmetrical either.
But I don’t feel the pull from my calves, its as if the ligaments in the back and sides of my knee are being pulled on instead of the muscle being stretched.

Good luck! I've thought about doing that but I can't. The last time my hair was natural I tried to put it in a pony tail and was driven to tears from the frustration of it all, and the failure! I love to see it though, once groomed correctly,
