Love the name “hello boys” better. Sorry you fell too. I guess I’m really lucky because I did hit my head but no concussion or anything

MemberSeptember 1, 2011 at 11:50 pm in reply to: Should I Stay Or Go @ POLE CLASS LOCATIONYeah I agree with the decision to leave. Is it possible to maybe find another location? Here’s an idea..if you can find another suitable space that’s still not perfect maybe offer class for a lesser price if that’s possible? I say that because I adore my instructor and love class time. My instructor is the perfect fit for me. If something happened to her studio, I would take class where ever I had to as long as she was teaching it.

Have fun with it! Oooh another pole, I REALLY envy that. Take pics and post a vid of new room after all is delivered and complete 😉

Oh no Amy, I wasn’t saying that! I don’t usually read your blog on the actual site unless you’ve embedded a video and even then, I still usually view from my phone. Looking at the actual webpage on a computer, the search button is there.

A-ha!!! Thanks Amy! I have also found the search button on your blog. (I usually read it RSS) The search button will help because this is like 3 or 4th time I've wanted to go back to something and had no idea where to find it. I had even searched iTunes because I was so sure it existed…but I searched "pole journal app" I now feel slightly less senile.

I fell Monday night! I was doing Wrist Seat and my bottom hand slipped. I was trying to do my challenge video. I ended up getting back on Tuesday night…I was about to workout off the pole, but I felt like I just had to go back in the pole room and try it again. I did and it wasn't bad. My wrist seat still felt like it was about to go wrong, I think my bottom hand is too far down. I'm determined not to let it beat me, and will work on it when I have class Monday.

I don’t know how I missed those cute yet bright buttons under the videos for “working on” and “mastered” but thank you again.

Just discovered that site a few days ago, I think from Amy’s blog….but I didn’t realize I could save moves. THANK YOU! It’s a start.

Adding you ohohraptor. PM me and let me know if/when you’d like to jam
*I bought a new laptop 2day so my Skype pic is currently blank until I can get stuff moved. When I do, it will go back to the same pic as my profile for easy recognition*

The ladies are right…I was dating a guy and rather shy about letting him see me pole especially since I do it in a sports bra and short shorts. I ended up letting him watch and he was impressed. I don't really have a sexy poling style (yet), but he thought it was "sexy as hell." He also recognized the amount of strength it took to climb and invert. Your man just may want to be a part of something that's important to you.
I read these tips a while ago…maybe some of it will be of use. Hope you guys have fun!

Jpole, I agree with the other ladies as well as understand what you are going through. I have no background in dance or gymnastics…just natural clumsiness. I usually don't get new stuff right away. According to Veena's lesson's I'm intermediate, but I still consider myself a beginner. I have watched tons of videos and even have a Youtube "wishlist" for things to do as my strength progresses. I'm sure Veena will continue to add to the lessons which will coincide with my wishlist items. There are so many things that can be done with spins…like putting them together for a combo. I am still working on that myself.
Don't get down on yourself. Keep practicing and post some videos. I used to be intimidated about posting videos because I couldn't climb or invert. But it's good feedback *point my toes* on hand positioning, how to work the pole on spin, and just to track your progress. I don't even know how to edit my videos yet and do all that cool stuff.
xoxoxo ~see ya soon

@Paulette…how does your Flip do in low lighting conditions? I've noticed that most of the tiny cams don't have a flash or anything, but some of them do have low light detection that enhances. I have a Kodak zm1 that's on the way back because I didn't realize it didn't have any thing for darker recording although it is waterproof.

Good job and Congrats to you ALL!

Sweet! Since my abs have been so weak, I thought I would feel it more while inverting…kinda like how they feel after the pole crunches and ab conditioning. They’re still not strong enough for a pretty Iguana mount though. Thank you very much for the feedback!

Thanks! Now Tigger or anybody else… I don’t feel as though I’m using my abs enough for invert. I feel like I’m kicking, but not as pronounced as the YouTube. I have been doing pole crunches and conditioning from Veena’s lessons. If you have a spare minute or two, please look at my last video and let me know.
